2003 forester rpm question31 Mar 2007 01:53 GMT2
Are the rpm suppose to be on the high side. I'm doing about 60mph and the
rpm are about 2000
Also is there always a ticking noise from the engine? It goes away when the
rpm are at a normal cruising speeds
head gasket question30 Mar 2007 04:05 GMT1
I have a 2000 GT Wagon. The previous owner replaced the head gasket in
2005. I guess only the left head gasket was replaced. Since one side
failed, should I be worried about the other side? Is there anything I
can do to prevent this? Should I worry about the side that was fixed
What is the toughest Subaru of all time?30 Mar 2007 03:05 GMT2
Young and old taken into account.
All weather from -50 F in alaska to 120 across a thousand mile desert. to
water deeper than it shoudn't be. to mud that acts like boots stuck in a mud
puddle leaving you there in your socks when you break free....Ice rain snow
Thanks, AAS for 3 more miles to the gallon!30 Mar 2007 03:03 GMT2
Yup, the old "poor gas mileage around town" complaint. I was getting
14-16 MPG. The dealer did the 'no codes' dance. After reading about the
engine temp sensor possibility here, I had a more convenient shop change
it out "to humor me".
Forrester keyless entry problem-strange30 Mar 2007 02:51 GMT10
The keyless entry system works pretty good except for one particular
parking lot....where it doesn’t work at all. Anyone have a similar
situation?
Nothing outwardly different about this lot...it’s open air and doesn’t
Diminished Value?29 Mar 2007 20:37 GMT1
I didn't know you could collect for the reduced market value of your car
after an accident repair, but the articles at www.claimsreporter.com say you
can.  I know most people will not buy a car with a bad Carfax unless it's
offered at a big discount.  Anyone else know about this ...

I have an EA81 alternator.  I'm trying to find the pinout.

out, and a thin white/redstripe wire coming out.
There is a bolt/nut connector labeled BAT, with FAT white wire coming
New wheels for my 2001 Forester28 Mar 2007 23:22 GMT3
I am looking to put some new wheels on my 2001 forester.  How can I tell
what size I can fit on there, and what size tires go with that?  Do I have
to drive into a tire shop to get this info?  I can't seem to find it
online anywhere.  Subaru website is a joke for cars that are not ...
Another Idiot Subaru Problem28 Mar 2007 21:08 GMT11
It's been in the 20's for quite a while in the NE. On Sunday mornings, I
go out to get the Sunday newspaper. When it's that cold, I drive;
normally I walk the three blocks. So, after I buy the paper and get back
into the Subbie ('03 Outback 3.0 engine) to drive home, it won't ...
3.0 L engine misfires28 Mar 2007 19:49 GMT2
My check engine light came on; the dealer checked the codes and found
three cyclinders misfiring.  After tune-up (all plugs were changed)
and the same day I drove 80 miles when the check engine light came on
again; the next day the dealer checked the code and found four
Legacy 1996 2.2 L questions28 Mar 2007 17:54 GMT2
I have a few questions about a "new" 1996 Legacy wagon 2.2L 5 speed
AWD I acquired recently.
First, I don't need the AC where we live so has anyone tried removing
the drive belt to the compressor  - I'm thinking it would give

2002 2.5L Engine Noise27 Mar 2007 16:37 GMT7
The issue with my car is with a metallic tick noise emanating from the
engine specifically from 3000-4000rpms when cold or warm, otherwise
the engine is silent. It is most noticeable when letting off the
throttle while in gear. The current mileage is 145,000kms or
Some insight into the early troubles Lotus had with their aluminum body parts supplier for the Elise27 Mar 2007 13:52 GMT1
