| Subaru Outback - What years to avoid? | 09 Mar 2007 13:18 GMT | 6 |
My mother's fairly dead set on buying a Subaru Outback (used), but I have heard about a lot of people having issues with the head gaskets on these cars. With that in mind, what years should I tell her to avoid when looking for a used one? Or is it an issue with all

| Cleaning lens on in-dash CD changer? | 09 Mar 2007 05:16 GMT | 3 |
I just bought a 2001 Outback with the 1-DIN in-dash CD changer (separate from radio/tape deck) It shuffles CDs just fine, but doesn't actually play them; I can hear it spin up the disk and make quiet head-seeking noises for a bit and then it gives up. Is there any way to clean ...

| Ice and snow collecting in wheel wells | 08 Mar 2007 04:59 GMT | 10 |
I have a '07 Outback. For a car that is supposed to go everywhere through everything, I've never had a car collect so much ice and snow in the wheel wells. Even my old Subie wasn't this bad. Any solutions or preventions? There's just enough room in there for the tire to spin ...

| STi in the snow | 07 Mar 2007 20:11 GMT | 30 |
Well, we've had over nine inches of snow, the top part of which seems to have turned into a thick ice sheet. My WRX STi finds this pretty challenging, not least because the body can have to push against the ice sheet. I also seem to burn a bit of tire as it makes it way bumpily

| Audible tyre (UK) wear warning! | 07 Mar 2007 14:39 GMT | 5 |
I posted here a couple of years ago re: dreadful howling noise from the rear of the WRX under really heavy braking. Lots of theories but the cause was identified as uneven wear on the rears as they were close to replacement but

| Share the story of a subaru taken for a swim here | 07 Mar 2007 05:07 GMT | 3 |
I was reading this: http://www.landairandsea.com/exhibits/dutton/ and realized that aside from a few inches of standing water I did not do much flotation in my Subarus.

| 2003 Outback alarm problems | 07 Mar 2007 03:03 GMT | 2 |
I recently bought a used 2003 Legacy Outback Limited in Canada. The battery was dead, and it was boosted couple of times. It works fine since, but I can't figure out the alarm disable/disarm combination. Basiacally the alarm is always on and I can not leave/make the doors ...

| Another Idiot Outback Problem | 07 Mar 2007 00:57 GMT | 17 |
OK, I open the door, get into the car, shut the door. I then put my seat belt on. Oh, oh, the seat back goes back on me. It seems that the seat belt strap wrapped around the seat back

| 92 legacy 4 door--fuse box diagram needed | 06 Mar 2007 23:26 GMT | 1 |
I’m looking for a diagram of the fusebox for a 92 legacy. Specifically I need to know what size fuses go where. Also, I need to know what relays go where. I would also love to get ahold of a complete schematic of the entire wiring harness. Anybody have any of

| New Legacy Owner Saying 'Hey'! | 06 Mar 2007 17:45 GMT | 9 |
Just bought a '99 Legacy L 30th Anniversary Edition as a first car for my 17-year-old son. We're picking the car up on Sunday. I suspect we'll have lots of questions, not having owned a Subaru before. Car has about 124k miles on it and has been well-cared for. Body and interior are

| Legacy timing belt idler pulley replacement | 06 Mar 2007 16:00 GMT | 11 |
I guess there's a question about everything, and maybe I missed this one in the archives: My '95 4WD Legacy needs another timing belt replacement at 133K miles. When I did the replacement at 70K, I replaced the tensioner adjuster, but

| 2007 Legacy GT Limited...NOISEY | 06 Mar 2007 07:21 GMT | 8 |
After driving this for a few months (5-speed auto), it's gotta be one of the noisiest cars I've ever owned. The tire noise isn't too bad, but, there's a "wind noise" kind of noise (I don't think it's actually wind, as, it starts at ~30 MPH and builds from
