Cost of 30K mile maintenace of Outback05 Mar 2007 17:17 GMT13
Just got back from the dealer from a 30K mile maintenance work on a 2002 Outback
Legacy, which had basically no problems. The cost came out to over $900 with taxes.
It seems very expensive. I'd be interested to hear what others have paid for this

4 wheels get power, and then it shifts around depending on slippage.
Whistling Noise '06 OBW03 Mar 2007 00:12 GMT6
I have had an occasional whisting noise that I can hear on the
driver's side when I am driving.  The pitch of the noise is directly
proportional with the speed of the vehicle.  It stops when I am idling
and gradually increases (gets higher) as I accelerate.  I can only
