I've got a noise that I think is relatively new, and maybe getting a bit worse. Here are the symptoms: It sounds like a high-pitched mechanical noise, from the driver's seat it comes from the right-front. With the radio on I can't hear it, but

| Manual control for power antenna | 28 Jul 2007 20:57 GMT | 3 |
Just put a new radio and antenna in my '98 Legacy Outback, and I'm a little annoyed to find that the power antenna deploys whenever the head unit is powered on, even if I'm just using it to listen to a CD or mp3 (got one of those fancy units with a built-in SD card reader).

My 'AT Oil Temp' light began flashing a few days ago. I found a way to retrive a diagnotic trouble code from the TCM online. The problem is that I have no idea what to do with the code? The code is '24' (two long blinks, four shorts blinks). Any idea where I can find out what ...

| Adding a "clicker" to turn signal indicator | 26 Jul 2007 23:55 GMT | 9 |
One of the very few minor beefs I have about my '05 OB 2.5i is that the little green turn signal indicators in the dash are quite hard to see particularly in bright sun. Has anyone tried adding a clicker of some sort to give an audible

| Timing Belt, 1999 Forester | 26 Jul 2007 21:57 GMT | 2 |
My wife's 1999 Forester was bought in the fall of 1998. It has 40,088 miles on it. (And that includes one trip from Virginia to Utah and back, 6,000 miles right there.) She makes lots of short trips. The manual says to change the timing belt at 105,000 miles or 105 months.

| Bought a Crap Gimmick -- What does it do? | 24 Jul 2007 16:05 GMT | 4 |
So, I picked up a "Pro Choice Performance Module" for my car, because I've been a little disappointed by its pickup. I had a hard time believing the claims the seller made, but I figured that for what I paid, even if it did nothing at all, I was only out twenty bucks.

| OBW wind noise - would this work? | 24 Jul 2007 15:03 GMT | 3 |
We have a 2003 OBW with the infamous wind noise problem coming from the driver's side window. I printed off the instructions for tearing apart the door and adjusting the glass, but DH was wondering if putting on side window vents/deflectors would work to eliminate it?

| OBW crash test results | 24 Jul 2007 01:30 GMT | 17 |
I have a question about IIHS crash test results for the Outback - there aren't any published. However, there're results published for the Legacy. The Legacy Frontal offset test results page doesn't say anything about the Outback.
