Connecting Electrical add ons06 Sep 2007 01:44 GMT9
I picked up a Day/Night rear view mirror, and wonder if there is
wiring in the 2.5i for it, which it didn't come on? Wasn't gona spend
2500 more for an Outback to get it.)) It is switched by the backup
light switch. I assume to turn it off for backing up. I filp my reg
New 07' Impreza Wagon05 Sep 2007 18:57 GMT25
Picked up the car yesterday. They said the brakes and clutch are OK.
Drove another before taking it, and it had a slighty firmer pedal, and
the clutch grabbed a bit higher. Since they said it was fine, I took
it, figuring I'D have to adjust things, If I could. Read you have to

I just bought a 1990 Subaru Legacy manual transmission from a friend
who moved out of country. He just left it for me to pick up. The
problem is, I can't figure out how to get this car to move. The engine
starts great, there is gas and oil and everything in it. I take off

Let the Tweaking Begin04 Sep 2007 12:10 GMT8
checked all the fluids in my new 07' 2.5i 5M Impreza wagon. Have to
learn all this new fangled stuff, so I can drive the dammed car.
Evened and lowered the tire pressures to factory specs, and ran the
motor. Hear a faint knock from the front of the motor. Sounds like
rear bearings03 Sep 2007 02:57 GMT12
I think I've read about rear bearings going before on this group.
I replaced both rear bearings on my 2003 OBS at about 90k kms.  I'm at
146k now and I can hear the bearings again.  Why only 55k this time?
The bearings were done by a 3rd party shop last time.  Is there a
leaking oil seals03 Sep 2007 02:50 GMT10
I have a '97 Legacy wagon that has leaking oil seals. I replaced the
crank seal myself but now I suspect the fly wheel seal is bad. Does
anyone know how much it would cost to have that seal replaced? They'll
probably have to remove the engine or trans to get at the seal.
NO power at higher altitudes03 Sep 2007 02:41 GMT21
I drove my 04 wrx to South Lake Tahoe for the first time since
bought my car a few weeks ago. I'm in San Francisco at sea level, th
area of Tahoe I was at was about 5000+ feet above sea level. As soo
as I get to Tahoe, I notice a serious lack of power when I'

How reliable is replacement head gasket?02 Sep 2007 07:50 GMT9
I have a 2000 Outback with the 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine.  The head
gasket was replaced under warranty at around 70,000 miles.  My son has
expressed interest in purchasing this 2000 Outback which now has
90,000 miles.
95 Legacy01 Sep 2007 22:52 GMT4
I have a 95 Legacy that's been sitting for about 3 years.  What do I
need to do to get it going again - besides charge the battery....  Do
I need to prime the carb, or make sure there is oil and of water in
the right areas or will starting it take care of that.  Muchas gracias.
15W50 to quiet piston slap in 98 obw?01 Sep 2007 05:18 GMT19
I've got a '98 Outback Legacy with 170,000 miles on it.  Being a 98 it
suffers from a loud piston slap for the first 10 minutes of running
until it reaches normal operating temperature.  This noise can be very
annoying - it gets many stares especially in busy parking lots.  Would
