| Subaru 1998 Outback P0440 EVAP question | 24 Dec 2007 03:16 GMT | 2 |
Greetings! I am looking to buy a used Subaru Outback 1998 that has the check engine light on w/ the message P0440 EVAP. In searching this group, I found that a possible solution can be that the gas cap just needs to be replaced as the seal may be leaking. In addition, it

Today I was driving my '07 Forester and had an accident. Someone pulled out of a side street and I ran into them. I jammed on the brakes and slid into the front right fender of the VW Jetta. Bang! I got out of the car. I saw a lot of debris in the roadway and expected

| STI rear strut mount weakness | 22 Dec 2007 13:40 GMT | 2 |
I've had an '05 US STi for 3 years with about 37,000 realatively easy miles on it. So far I have replaced the rear strut mounts twice (at Subaru's expense, of course). The first time they replaced both rear struts, too.

| paper shop manuals. 06-07' Impreza | 21 Dec 2007 18:51 GMT | 3 |
I have a manual on CD, that is supposed to be the Sube one, but all the parts are drawings. Is that what the Sube one has? I'd like to have something with actual pictures. Maybe it is just me, but the drawings don't help me visualize the parts of the car that well, and

| 99 OB Wagon Fuel Filler Neck Leak | 21 Dec 2007 18:49 GMT | 7 |
I recently got a CEL with the dreaded 440 error code. I started looking around to see what may be wrong, and to my surprise, there was a lot of rust around the fuel cap inlet. I removed the plastic cover over the fuel filler hose in the wheel well and tons of dirt came out.

| Wheel nut tool. | 21 Dec 2007 10:11 GMT | 6 |
I've just purchased a second hand Impreza RX manual hatch. I came to take one of the wheels off for the first time today, and there is no wheel nut tool supplied with the vehicle. I managed to get it done by borrowing a tool off a friend.

| Ethanol in fuel? | 21 Dec 2007 07:52 GMT | 15 |
Downunder, Subaru EJ22s are run on "standard" 91 octane unleaded fuel. I understand that in Japan the octane rating on which they run is as little higher though I don't know whether there is any difference in Janapese and export engines.

The dealer I bought my Impreza from 3+ mo ago, is bugging me with a 2nd letter, saying I am overdue for the "Dealer Recomended" maintance. When writing to Sube about questions about 5M trans oil, they said, not to worry about it, but think I better get in touch with

| Question about wheels and offsets | 19 Dec 2007 20:25 GMT | 28 |
Back to another Subaru I have. The wheels rub against the calipers in the front. Hey, they fit, they're the right diameter, what gives?! They're also rusty, so I am trying to replace them. In the course of looking for used wheels for an '89 Suby GL hacthback (NOT the Brat-looking

| Notchy trans breaking in? | 18 Dec 2007 23:05 GMT | 7 |
07' 5M Impreza trans Seems to be shifting better. The main problem was the 1st to 2nd shift. Getting out of 1st was hard, and the revs would drop, by then engaging 2nd would have a lurch is the best way to describe it, though that probably isn't right. The car has 1500mi on
