I've noticed that the items mentioned on the maintenance schedule reccomended by the dealer does not match Subaru's maintenace schedule. I've also done some research and found that is the norm, regardless of manufacturer and dealer. My questions are:

Just had my 04 Forester XS serviced at my independent mechanics shop. He diagnosed leaking rear camshaft bearing and said it would be covered under warranty. (87,000km) on the car). Has this been a known problem or just one of those things? ANything else that should get done ...

I feel lucky to work at a reputable Subaru dealership. I see no cheating or trying to milk money out of the customer, but people trying to fix cars. Some customers may say otherwise, but there are two sides to a story.. here are some of ours:
