subaru legacy hard to start when cold20 Apr 2008 15:19 GMT2
I have a 1993 subaru legacy that starts and fine except when the
weather is cold.  Actually I shouldn't say that , it will start fine
with a portable jumpstarter that I keep in the car(I imagine it would
jumpstart from another car too)  Mostly in the mornings is when I have
Hard braking- Flat battery20 Apr 2008 15:16 GMT4
My 10 yr year old Subaru Liberty had a flat battery and died on me
whilst trying to start ignition (problem diagnosed as jumper leads
worked magic) I tried a rolling start, I have no idea where this came
from somehow I thought it would work. But it didnt and my brake pedals
'92 Legacy: Blown head gasket/popped timing belt pulley20 Apr 2008 14:03 GMT14
On my '92 Legacy with 2.2 liter non-turbo engine, it appears that the
driver's-side head gasket has blown, because all the anti-freeze was quickly
blown into the overflow container then out to the pavement, splattering the
inside of the right front tire & suspension.
Oil Leak solved after PCV replacement19 Apr 2008 17:02 GMT6
Well, my 99 OB Wagon has had an oil leak for a while and last month I did a
tune-up (changed plugs, wires and the PCV) The PCV came out looking quite
bad (I'm sure it was plugged).
Well after the installation of new PCV I've had no smell of oil and the
Changing Legacy door indicator repeater18 Apr 2008 16:00 GMT2
Hi - I need to change these both sides. Got the parts. Supplier says I have
to prise off the painted shell to get at the screws that hold the indicator
repeater on. Anyone know how to do this without breaking something?

EJ22 Alternator Bearings17 Apr 2008 22:39 GMT1
Bearings in my '93 EJ22 alternator have become very noisy and sound like
they want to be replaced.  Has anyone part numbers for SKF or other
replacements bearings please?  Is there one or two bearings?
Also, what other parts are worth replacing at the same time?  I have read
96 legacy outback ABS leak BUZZ15 Apr 2008 04:21 GMT3
Our 96 outback is having some issues - related I think. For the past
several months I have had to add brake fluid when the brake light
appears on the dash. Only about 1/2 cup every 2-3 months. I've been
concerned but not too concerned. I have looked for leaks and never
2007 outback (2.5)  oil filter removal15 Apr 2008 01:31 GMT14
I own a 2007 Subaru Outback with the 2.5i basic engine. I had my first two
oil changes done at the dealership but I want to start doing my own. I
bought the equivalent Fram oil filter (9715), and also a filter wrench to
fit it (for removal). It's one that fits to the bottom of ...
IT DIDN'T OVERHEAT!14 Apr 2008 22:11 GMT1
Re: headgaset in a bottle, 97 Legacy wagon:
Fininshed the process last night and drained the stuff out, and let it
sit. It might have been a little COLD last night, but didn't have much
choice.
Head Gasket in a bottle, Part deux14 Apr 2008 21:25 GMT7
Here we go again. This one's probably going to be more tricky.
Some of you may remember I did the HG in a bottle trick on an '89 GL
coupe. Five thousand miles and it still appears to be holding. This one's
going to be a little trickier...
Remove Belt around AC on 1990 Subaru Loyale14 Apr 2008 03:26 GMT8
I need to get the a/c belt off a 1990 Subaru Turbo Loyale.. It has
Panosonic a/c. There is a long bolt that is supposed to move an idler
pulley to take tension off the belt. I have turned the long bolt
clockwise and counterclockwise, and the belt doesn't get any looser.
I'm headed to Japan...13 Apr 2008 22:43 GMT1
to punch an engineer in the nose!
Pass side taillight on an '89 GL coupe. 5 nuts. loosen and remove, right?
No, the washer bottle is in the way, and the trim piece that holds the lic
plate light is, too. And the screws are SO rusty there's no way to remove
CV boot- '91 Legacy13 Apr 2008 16:53 GMT8
A quick question for you. I'm readying my daughter's college car for sale,
and see that the driver's side rubber CV boot is torn. This is a front wheel
drive  '91 Legacy sedan, with automatic transmission. Can you good folks
give me an idea of a reasonable  cost for this repair? ...
03 Impreza 2.5 stereo won't turn off!?!?13 Apr 2008 16:47 GMT2
Today I was driving and stopped at a convenient store and left my car
running with the stereo turned down while a CD was playing.  When I
got back in I tried to turn the volume back up, and it wouldn't do
anything.  It wouldn't eject the cd or let me turn the CD deck off at
