Roof rack crossbars affect mileage?05 Jun 2008 20:05 GMT12
My '01 Outback has two easily-removable crossbars on the roof rack, which I
never use. Has anyone taken those off and found any mpg benefit? I'd guess only
1 mpg, if that, on the highway. Still . . .
Question about braking05 Jun 2008 19:17 GMT2
I'm not very impressed with the braking on my 07' 2.5i 5M Imp. The
soft pedal isn't confidence inspiring in an emergency, even a slight
one, and I noticed with the trans in neutral or clutch in, the brakes
feel a lot stronger, though still too soft. I guess to control
93 Legacy Turbo Speedo prob04 Jun 2008 22:52 GMT10
Have an intermittent fault whereby I lose the speedo usually failing
slowly over a mile or so.
When it comes back after a mile or a week does so slowly also.
Also after a while I get the "Check Engine" light come up.

turning motor over03 Jun 2008 18:51 GMT8
How can I turn over an 07' 2.5i 5M motor and not have it fire up? Can
I pull the connectors on the coil, or will that mess something up?
Don't want to pull the plug wires, and looks like it would be hard to
turn the motor with the accessory belts, taking up the slack in them.
"Pugs" on an old four lug sube03 Jun 2008 15:48 GMT3
I know they fit, and have access to some. I know they are tough for the
offroading I most often see them on. I did learn the center hole is a bit
bigger than the tight fitting oem...
Just inquiring if anyone invented anything to fill in the space and make it
WRX STI '0803 Jun 2008 05:04 GMT2
Any first hand impressions on WRX STI '08? Any owners that had
previous experience with older STI for some cross-comparison? I'm
about to replace my WRX '02 and was considering new STI as a prime
choice but would like to hear some feedback from owners first. Thanks!
Hood Release cable broke 1990 Loyale03 Jun 2008 00:28 GMT4
Hood release cable just broke on 1990 loyale . Its an automatic, so
there is a trans cooler in front of the radiator. There is only about
an inch between the back of the hood  latch  and the trans cooler.
Can't get my hand up there to feel where the release is. Anyone
Ethanol conversion?02 Jun 2008 13:57 GMT84
I recently learned that the energy cost to produce ethanol for cars is
much less than the energy benefit, contrary to popular belief.  (In
fact, the reverse is true for gasoline, which has not seemed to
prevent our huge use of gasoline.)  Further, if we are at or near
CEL - ABS maybe?01 Jun 2008 20:40 GMT10
I got a solid CEL yesterday.  2003 OBS, 175k kms.
At first, I tightened the gas cap.  I know my timing belt is due, so I
was wondering if the CEL would come on around this many kms just to
force me to go in and get the timing belt done.  But after today's
