CEL question on a 2004 Outback Sedan LTD with 65K miles.31 Oct 2008 01:11 GMT9
After about 60-70 miles my CEL goes on and the cruise control button
light blinks on/off continously whether or not the button is pressed.
The cruise control is also disable as far as I can tell.  With a hand-
held code reader I reset and all is back to normal until another 60 to
Tire Question30 Oct 2008 22:17 GMT4
I recently traded my in my 2004 WRX Wagon and bought a 2008 base
Outback.  I still have the snow tires for the old car (205/55 r16)
Does anyone know if I can use them on the outback which has size
225/60 R16, or do I need to go shopping for new tires?
water in the spare tire well30 Oct 2008 21:04 GMT1
I have an 04 Forrester that has developed a leaky rear...
The water does not appear to be coming in around the hatch seal and
definately not from the floor plugs.  I had my wife spray (shower) the top
and hatch area with the sprinkler while I was inside where the spare goes
Gas Tank30 Oct 2008 19:36 GMT-
I've got a leak. It's only running when over half a tank, so it's
probably that
"donut" joint. The shop manual from the library isn't very clear on
this, so
Timing Belt, 1989 1.8L GL30 Oct 2008 17:19 GMT13
Got my GL on the road today...you know, after the hard time I had with
insurance, RMV, etc, I knew I should have left it home...
I think it's a broken timing belt. I had them checked last year and the
Subaru Specialist said they looked new (4,000 miles ago...)

EJ25 Engine faltering problem fixed29 Oct 2008 00:57 GMT-
Folk,
In case this helps someone else out there, we've had a
long-standing undiagnosed problem with our 2.5L Liberty

4W Alignment and Cupping/Feathering28 Oct 2008 21:50 GMT1
I have a 2007 Impreza (base) that has some cupping/feathering wear on
all four tires (outside edges). Last year I was in a car accident and
all four wheels were re-aligned. I suspect I have some toe-in or
toe-out issues. The car drives perfectly straight, and I rotate the
The latch on the hatch is stuck28 Oct 2008 10:07 GMT7
Over the years with my 1999 OB, this latch has more and more often
stuck shut.  I have learned to remove the inside upholstery and squirt
lubricants blindly into the space near the latch and fix the problem
temporarily. I think it is caused by rust.

what the problem could be? Thanks
Subaru's STi Police Car26 Oct 2008 07:13 GMT-
Subaru's "punish the pavement" slogan for its high-performance STi gets new meaning when you see the way one Chicago suburb is preventing street racing and promoting safe driving. In the spring of 2008, the village of Itasca, Ill., swore into...

Outback running hot25 Oct 2008 17:09 GMT7
I have an 04 Subbi Outback.  Over the last few months I've noticed the
temp gauge almost at redline.
It used to run solid, right at the halfway point but now, somewhat
often I'll look at it and it's right at the beginning of redline.
MotorTrend picks Subaru Forester as the Sport/Utility Of The Year23 Oct 2008 20:36 GMT4
The Subaru Forester won this year's MotorTrend's Sport/Utility Of The Year and we really think the car deserves the the award. This summer we had the chance to test drive the car, and we were really impressed with its performance, especially on offroad. On normal roads and in the ...
