[99 Camry, Manual] Tyres - the eternal question.26 Nov 2004 05:52 GMT8
I think it's time to buy new tyres. To put it this way, if I get
pulled over I get done a beaut.
Anyways, given Australian conditions, which tyres are better value
for money? Currently I've got Bridgestones (I bought the car with them)
89 Camry in high water - any damage?25 Nov 2004 16:12 GMT6
We got a ton of rain last night around 3:00 am.  Water in the street
got about 18" deep and flooded the 89 Camry (w/ 200k miles) which was
parked on the street.  It won't start and run...coughs and
groans...dash lights flashing...wierd gasoline smell.  Anybody got a
Height of Suspension25 Nov 2004 16:05 GMT1
Has anyone ever managed to raise the suspension of a Camry (94).
I live in Africa and find the ground clearance a little too low.
Thanks

Front Tower Strut Bar Camry 200025 Nov 2004 04:36 GMT3
Does anybody know if Front tower bars will really help during corners.
I was reading a posting by stating that it really helps especially
when taking the on or off ramp.
I did a search on eBay and found that they range from $25-60 (after
1991 Camry DLX Parts24 Nov 2004 01:38 GMT1
Hey all,
I'm needing to replace some parts on my car, and the area I live in is
pretty sparse for salvage yards that carry my '91 Camry.  Is there a place
that offers parts at a reduced price when compared to what the dealer wants
A nasty surprise23 Nov 2004 19:50 GMT6
Was giving the '96 Camry its 3000K oil and filter change and noticed the
inside of the drivers front wheel was greasy,...uh oh,...split CV boot
caught before too much happened in the way of damage.
The other telltale sign was grease sprayed around the inside of the
Shock Sensor Camry LE 200023 Nov 2004 16:07 GMT4
I was working on my car which I just bought. I noticed that it has a
shock sensor above the brake pedal. Does anybody know how to iniatiate
it? The LED does not blink and when I jump on the car with the alarm
on, it does not sound.
Is 21 miles per gallon normal for a 90 Camry 4 cylander?23 Nov 2004 15:16 GMT16
I just bought a '90 Camry with 137,000 miles on it and checked the gas
mileage and it's only 21 mpg highway. I'm curious if that's normal for
a car this age or do I have some sort of gas leak. I had a guy check it
a couple of weeks ago but he couldn't find one. Anyone have any other
Why is there two drain plugs on a V6 (Camry) Transmission?23 Nov 2004 11:27 GMT1
I was changing brakes on my 97 ES300 and I noticed a drain plug in the
transmission that I never used before.  It reminds me of the differential
drain plug you have on 4 cyl Camrys.  It's located on the driver's side on
the rear side of the transmission towards the firewall. You can ...
1993 Camry V6 XLE Vibrates when coming a stop/traffic light when its cold23 Nov 2004 05:44 GMT2
It tends to do that when the car is outside and it gets cold. But after 10
minutes, it doesn't do that. Everything is perfect, any suggestions what
could it be. The guy over the repair shop said he couldn't find anything
wrong with it, he said leave it over night so I can test it in ...
1987 Toyota Camry: where to place jack and jackstands?23 Nov 2004 00:42 GMT2
I have a 1987 Toyota Camry LE gasoline engine 4-door. I need to know
where to place the hydraulic jack and jack stands I have so that my
vehicle is not damaged. I do not have the scissor jack that is issued
with this vehicle. If I place the hydraulic jack and jack stands along
Idle valve replacement (1994 Camry 4 cylinder - 5S-FE)22 Nov 2004 13:42 GMT2
After cleaning the idle air control valve for three years, the time
between cleanings began to be reduced, so decided to replace with new.

2 Starters later - still grinding noise at startup22 Nov 2004 07:04 GMT13
I have a 6cylinder '92 Toyota Camry LE.  I just had a used engine put
in it (original had 236,000 before it gave up the ghost). Used engine
supposedly has about 95,000.  I started having an occasional grinding
noise upon turning key - would happen once, then maybe not again for
O2 sensor vs. Air-Fuel sensor22 Nov 2004 05:26 GMT5
I was wondering if the auto techies here can tell me the difference
between these two.  Apparently, my Camry 1999 I-4 has a code of P135 when
Check Engine light came on.  I referred to the Camry Haynes manual and it
reports heated O2 sensor but am wondering if both of these are ...
synthetic oil change interval?21 Nov 2004 18:29 GMT42
My 99 Camry 2.2l is now out of warranty so I'm free to change the oil at
whatever interval seems sensible.  I'm in Canada, so I'm supposed to
follow the severe service interval of 5000 km/3000 mi.  Toyota goes out
of their way (on their website) to say that one should follow the ...
