I recently bought a new set of plug wires and a distributor cap for my
89 4cyl. Problem now is that one of the screws on the cap is stripped
somehow and rotates in its socket without moving out.
Anybody have any bright ideas on what my next course of action should

Interior Lights/Camry21 Nov 2004 06:59 GMT2
I just bought a used 1995 4 dr Camry and I have a couple of questions for
you Camry lovers.  The interior lighting of the Camry seems very dark.
The dome light does not come on and I have checked the fuse and the only
thing left to do is to change the dome light bulb, but the cover ...
95 Camry 4 cyl AutoTrans   won't shift into over drive when cold21 Nov 2004 03:08 GMT5
The car runs perfectly but I notice in the fall and winter for the
first mile or so before the temperature guage comes off the peg, the
tranny won't shift into over drive.  Once it warms up a bit and the
temp guage comes off the peg, everything is fine.  In the summer, it
89 4cyl timing belt20 Nov 2004 22:25 GMT1
The previous owner of my car (the original onwer, that is) tell me that
she changed the timing belt periodically per Toyota's reccomendations.
That being said, the car had 204,000 miles on it when she gave it to me.
It now has 214,000 miles. Should I be changing the timing belt ...

Just bought a 97 Camry from my folks. 56,000 miles, well maintained,
in almost perfect condition. Got about 2 hours down the road and it
threw a rod. The engine is ruined and will have to be replaced,
according to the mechanic.

95 Oil leak help18 Nov 2004 05:47 GMT11
Trying to fix a 2 drop/day oil leak, I've been refusing to acknowledge that
a portion of the head gasket area is slightly wet. Also lot of accumulation
near the junction where the upper radiator hose enters the block, near the
distributor.  So far, I have no coolant in my antifreeze ...

95 4cyl Steering Wheel Vibration18 Nov 2004 03:08 GMT5
Steering wheel vibrates visibly while in Drive when stopped, less in Park,
and even less in Neutral. I'm concerned about the level of vibration - no
other cars I drive are even close.  Is this engine mounts, transmission
problem, timing, or something else?
91 distributor cap gasket18 Nov 2004 02:58 GMT2
I had my cap and wires replaced and am experiencing problems after it
rains. Ive learned there is a gasket that must be instaled inbetween the
cap and distributor that I think the mechanic may have forgot to instal.
Is this gasket visible just looking at the distributor, I can not ...

97 Camry timing belt..is it lethal when broken??17 Nov 2004 07:39 GMT10
Friend at work was surprised that I hadn't had the timing belt changed on my
97 Camry with 93K miles.  He claims I'll ruin my engine if it goes and it'll
cost me 4 grand in repair work.  I told him all it would do is leave me
stranded by the side of the road and cost me 3 hundred ...
