When we got into it, the timing belt was obviously bad also.
After replacing seals, idlers, etc and in the process of putting it back
togther, we found that we cannot not get the engine to turn to TDC from

'94, 4 cyl., driver's side, inner boot at large clamp adjacent
differential has slow seepage of grease. Keep cleaning it off the
nearby shield and it keeps coming back. I've cleaned the boot itself,
and it is fine - no cracks.

I got on the highway today and reached 100km/h and stayed at that speed and
the trany stayed in 3rd gear.  I accelerated to 120km/h and stayed at that
speed to see if the trany would jump to 4th but it stayed in 3rd.  Then I
floored it to 140km/h then I let go and it went to 4th ...

My car is a Camry 90'(4 cylinder, automatic trans, 110k miles). Two
months ago, it began develop a noise when cold start, especially in
morning. The engine sounds no more smooth. After driving several miles,

    I have an 86 camry that I bought not too long ago. (My third
one!)  The previous owner replaced the fuel line, so its relatively
new. (about 12-15 months old.)

I'm using a haynes manual to replace the passenger side transaxle/cv joint.
I have taken the shaft out of the hub. Now haynes tells me that I have to
remove the intermediate shaft between the joints and the actual
transmission.  The PROBLEM is the intermediate shaft won't come out ...

imagination but the camry sounds a lot like the corolla in terms of

My camry door locks behave randomly, when the car stops and I try to
open the door, the lock will lock and unlock. Also some times it
violently locks/unlocks automatically making a terrible sound.(at a
frequency of 2-3 lock/unlocks per sec.)
