My '84 Camry 2.0 Liter started smoking yesterday after idling for
10-15 minutes.  I recently had an inexpensive cataltic converter
installed.  The engine doesn't smoke while cruising but only after
idling.  I can make it happen every time.  I may have heard a "crack"
EGR valve question23 May 2005 07:17 GMT4
My son's 1993 Camry has been hard to start, and has tended to conk
out at stop signs unless he revs the motor. After checking a lot
of possible causes, we believe we have discovered what seems to
be a malfunctioning part: the EGR valve.

Toyota claims Camry's give 24mpg (city) and 29 mpg (hwy) for 4-cylinder

The car has 200,000 miles plus on it. The car will start right up
