'88 3SFE engine: no vacuum ANYWHERE!15 Aug 2006 14:35 GMT17
Its an '88 Camry with 4 cyl. 3SFE engine. I have been trying to figure
out what is causing an extreme loss of power when the car is driven
just a short ways.  Idling, sitting still, it will run just fine.
After driving a short ways the engine loses power to where it will

Check engine light has turned on.
Mechanic I trust said code indicates the catalytic converter is bad (code is
P0420).
He said that code is pretty straightforward as far

I was rotating the tires on my '96 (4-cyl.) Camry. I noticed that where
the right front tire was, there was oil on the bottom half of what
looks like a small CV boot.  Not the actual CV boot, but just to the
left of it, there's what looks like a small CV boot.

Driver's side electric door locks fine but will not unlock using either
external or inside door handles.  All the other doors work fine.
Am able to open door if both handles are worked at the same time and someone
else flips the inside door lock button back and forth.  Took inside ...

According to the 2007 Camry service manual there is an indicator on the A/C
control panel which is supposed to indicate when the plasmacluster unit is
on/functioning.  The picture in the manual shows the words "ION CLEAN" just
to right of the blower speed indication.  I never see ...

I hope someone can help with this...I pluged a small air compressor in
the lighter plug, only to find the plug was loose...the compressor
worked for a while and when I turned it off and back on the lighter and
radio both died. I have checked all wiring behind the unit, all the

I'm looking for a source for the banjo bolt adapter for the fuel
pressure gauge to fit a Toyota and a Mitsubishi. So far all I've found
are complete kits. I have that, sans the aforementioned adapter(s).
Any leads to a solid source would be most appreciated.

My sons heater core leaked coolant all over the passenger side floor.
We had it replaced only 15 month ago by a local mechanic.Guarentee has
expired.
I called the dealer for an estimate and was quoted 10 hrs labor plus

I have a bit of an interesting problem with my camry.  First off, it's
an 1990 camry automatic v6.  Right now I can't start my car... This is
my problem!  I turn the ignition key on and i get nothing.  The car

the years. It has 144,000 miles on it and recently had a new head
gasket, valves, water pump, radiator, heater hoses, PVC value, timing

The HVAC control panel just went dark when I have the lights on.  Only
the two left knobs (Fan, Temperature) are dark.  The AC and Recirc
indicators on those knobs come on normally. The third knob that

I was looking at a new Camry, and I was just  wondering if I should buy
the 4, or the 6cyl? Is there a huge difference in gas milage between the
two? Is there a noticible power difference in the 6 cyl versus the 4
cyl? Thanks in advance, for any help on this.
