Is treatment with Red Line generally better than buying a tankful of
Chevron with Techron?
Chevron's pretty cheap in our area (about $3.06/gal last time I
checked, comparing with $2.95/gal for the Arco I usually buy)... was
93 Camry Struts and Strut Mounts05 Aug 2006 20:31 GMT1
My second question of the day.  My 93 Camry has the original struts on
them.  I am getting a noisy repeated clunk from the front which I
believe is the struts or strut mounts.  I plan on doing the work myself
and I do have a coil spring compressor.

I have a 2000 Camry with the symptoms of warped rotors.  I would like
to check for warp myself before taking it in.  Can anyone give me the
specifications and procedure?  I am a machinist by trade and have a
wide array of measuring tools.
recommended oils?05 Aug 2006 13:44 GMT9
Re: dino oil, I remember a mechanic told me that Castrol and Valvoline
are good oils, and to stay away from the Chevron and Shell brands.
Any thoughts on what oil brands are recommended, and what to avoid?
Thanks,
won't move on "R" unless gas pedal is stepped05 Aug 2006 11:06 GMT3
I have a 99 camry ce. Today I fond that while I switched from "Parking"
to "R", the car would not move unless I step on the gas pedal. The car
had no heavy load and it was parked on flat ground. I am wondering if
anyone can give me some idea about what might be the reason for this
water leak in Camry 200505 Aug 2006 06:36 GMT5
Last year I bought a new camry 2005; everything is fine
so far but recently I found a lot a water under the carpet
in the driver and the passenger sides.
It is unclear from where this water comes. (This is no evidence
Camshaft Position Sensor,  Code 34005 Aug 2006 06:23 GMT2
It is a 2000 model Camry 4-cylinder,  115K miles.  Yesterday afternoon
the engine stalled at driving speed for a couple of seconds.  Lost power
steering in a turn,  felt like the car slid sideways - but it was a dry
concrete road with good traction characteristics- after a very ...
96 Camry stereo installation question05 Aug 2006 04:03 GMT1
A few years ago, my cd player went out on my Camry.  After 6 months of
listening to crappy cassettes, I finally had a professional install a
nice Mp3 player.
All was good until the following summer when some j.rkoff smashed my
2004 Solara convertible questions04 Aug 2006 02:22 GMT10
I just purchased an almost new (3,500 miles) pearl white Solara SLE
convertible. I test drove several other brands, traded in a 96 Sebring conv.
at 135,000 miles, and this car had the least number of annoying design
features of all of them.
1992 Camry 4 cly CE Stick Shift03 Aug 2006 14:09 GMT3

I have a vibration problem in the 65-80 MPH range, and it's not always
there, but usually is.  It happens upon Acceleration, and Deceleration.
Sometimes it's pretty bad, and other times its just a little.  I can
Service - LOF, SET ??03 Aug 2006 02:21 GMT5
My dealer has been sending me notices about getting a "41,250 mile

99 camry, recommended oil change interval?02 Aug 2006 22:02 GMT10
Got a '99 Camry (70k miles, bought used), mostly used for flat city
driving, usually 5 to 10 miles each way - wife uses it to run errands
to the store, library, etc.
Given the sludge history of this kind of car, and our usage, what's the
Need crank timing sprocket guide for 3SFE02 Aug 2006 20:12 GMT2
Its an '88 Camry wagon. I  am putting engine back together. The guide
(for the crankshaft timing sprocket (like a washer that secures the
timing belt so it can't come off sprocket) was missing.  AM stuck
until I locate one. Haven't found any place in town that has a 3SFE
