I need to remove the oilpan to reseal, but there appears to be a large, rectangular rubber plug wedged between the oilpan and transaxle. What is it? Does it come out and if so, what is the best way to get it out? Should it be reinserted after re-doing the oilpan

| EGR Valve Maintenance | 10 Jan 2007 21:33 GMT | 1 |
The exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR valve) in my '96 Camry sticks open after an hour or so on the highway. A hard tap releases it. I have tried cleaning it with carb cleaner and reaming it (with a gun barrel brush). It doesn't seem to help much. Any suggestions before I bite ...
