Mechanic claims the "rod bearings" on my 99 camry (4cyl) are gone and I need a new engine. Is a $5,000 expense the ONLY solution? Is there anything I can do to get more from what has been a reliable vehicle?

My car is leaking oil. When I drive, and turn on my heating, i can smell a little bit of burning oil (a little stronger smell when i'm going slower, or am slowing down.) I usually takes about 15mins for the smell to start, and doesn't happen all the time.

I have a 2000 V6 Camry and have only 54K miles on it. The car is pretty much driven only on the weekend. My quesiton is the timing belt. I have not changed it yet. Do i need to go with the miles or the years with this maintenance. Planning on taking a road trip this

Hi Camryans, My Camry 1995 won't start normally . For the past 5 days the only way I could start it was turning the key and pushing the gas pedal at the same time. Without the gas pedal, it's just crancking and nothing

I have a 98 Camry XLE with 37K miles. It has developed a stange fast clicking noise coming from behind the glove box. At first I thought it was something vibrating in the glove box but the frequency of the ticking never changes and continues even after the engine has been turned ...

Problem started with just a 'click' when the key was turned on. Tried jumping it off to no effect. Had the starter rebuilt and was told that the solenoid was bad. When the rebuilt started is put back on the car you can now hear the starter running but the engine is not

Do I have any hope to stop a water pump leak by using stop leak? It's been leaking for months, so I stopped using coolant, now using rain water. It's leaking faster and faster---would coolant slow it down?

I have a 2005 V6 SE with just over 60,000 miles...all routine service up to date. Tonight, the "Check Engine" indicator stayed on. My first thought, as I had a fill-up last night, was to check the gas cap...which was secure.

My '96 Camry (159,000 miles) is parked outside where the temp is 30-40 degrees (sometimes has ice on the windshield). When starting the car the engine makes a clattering sound, which goes away once the engine is warm.
