Radio drops when AC comes on31 Mar 2005 03:54 GMT2
The radio turns off when the AC turns on, each time. I'm not sure if it's
tied to the AC cycle, just seems that the AC banner appears as the audio
stops.
The local deal wasn't able to find the cause (not sure they even saw the
Test drive29 Mar 2005 21:02 GMT2
Well I just took my first test drive in a Prius and think I will wait awhile
befoer I get one (1 or 2 years).
The dash is like that minivan dash long and wide which I dont like, there is
not a power seat option , but the  worst thing is the rear window, when I
Reliability, maintenance27 Mar 2005 18:56 GMT25
Compared with typical new cars, what have you '05 Prius owners experienced
with reliability/maintenance problems?
What kind of maintenance work is done only by a dealer, and what kind are
all repair shops able to do?
Twitchy Handling27 Mar 2005 04:49 GMT1
I have 2004 Prius and have notched up 24000 km in NSW on a variety of roads,
much of it intercity and suburban but some rural and remote.
Above 100 km, the handling needs a great deal of concentration and its
tendency to wander off course is not felt through the steering. This is ...
Insurance26 Mar 2005 15:33 GMT16
Does the insurance for a Prius considerable higher, and how
much higher, than other standard car of the same price
range?
Thanks,
Removing of messages15 Mar 2005 16:14 GMT4
To the co-ordinator of this group
I have - to the best of my knowledge - set up this group like all my other
groups, yet the Prius group has a very short retention of messages time - if
more than a few days old - they disappear. As I only get on to it possibly
Right Wing Radicals??14 Mar 2005 01:35 GMT18
I have heard the reference to "right wing radicals" in this newsgroup, as
though only bed-wetting liberals are interested in hybrids. Hate to
disappoint, but my wife are I are as right wing as you can get, and both
love our Prius. It gets more than double the fuel economy of my ...
South African PRIUS launch10 Mar 2005 09:51 GMT4
Hi to the group,
I have followed your group avidly since January this year.
Just to let you all know that Toyota has just launched the Prius here - with about 12 units a month coming into the country and not sold but leased for 48 months. Also it is a condition that any damage ...
Engine run-on.06 Mar 2005 23:43 GMT18
Once or twice now, in about 1000 miles, the gas engine in my 2005 has
produced a bubump bubump sound with sympathetic vibration when automatically
turning off such as at a stop light.  Sounds and feels like engine run-on
sometimes caused by fuel spilling into the combustion ...
Gas pump issue06 Mar 2005 15:08 GMT6
I've found that I have to pump gas _very_ slowly when filling up my 2004
Prius to avoid have the pump's cut-off valve (or whatever it's called)
stop the flow almost right away.  When I say _very_ slowly I mean a mere
trickle -- filling the tank can take five minutes.  I'll certainly ...

Prius headlamp switch04 Mar 2005 18:33 GMT3
The book for my 2005 level 5 Prius shows a position labeled "Auto" on the
headlamp switch.  I don't see that position on my switch.  Anybody else?
Parking-lot attendants, etc.03 Mar 2005 22:32 GMT3
I recently test-drove a Prius, and noticed the unconventional driving
controls and the "smart-key" setup. A new owner would get used to these
quickly, I'm sure.
But what about parking-lot attendants, car-wash employees, etc.? Any of you
prius worth getting?02 Mar 2005 06:19 GMT43
I just got a new job in Irvine and have a girlfriend in Pasadena. I
moved to Anaheim so that I'm not too far from both.
Since I will be doing a lot of commuting I thought a hybrid would be a
good option. I checked both the insight and prius and the prius looks
Shell Optimax benefits01 Mar 2005 21:47 GMT1
Anyone know the benefits of Optimax and other branded Petrol/Gasoline
upsells. I'm trying to figure out the reality behind their claims of:
Better mileage
Better engine life
