Manual key?  Jump starts?28 Aug 2005 17:40 GMT11
I was just reading a saga elsewhere, and the person had to get
into his dead Prius using a manual key.  I didn't get a manual
key and am wondering whether I should have.  It would make
sense, but then I also am unaware of any key holes.  So, if

Yesterday, I got to test-drive my car.  It was sweet.  (I have
a lot of reading to do, though.  <g>)  I mentioned something
about the break-in time, and the salesman said there was NO
break-in time.  I am going to have to check this out very

While drafting a safe and legal distance behind a tractor-trailer
during my commute I was effortlessly doing 70MPH while getting
outstanding MPG numbers on the display.
My lifetime average MPG is 54.2 and most of that is highway driving.

My Car Is In!  Last-minute Qs re prepaid maintenance23 Aug 2005 14:10 GMT8
I find I haven't absorbed the details re the prepaid
maintenance.  I am assuming that, like the extended warranty,
the dealer will try to sell this at some ridiculous price.  Is
it at all worthwhile?  What is a good price?  Do I have to get
Break-in period22 Aug 2005 02:56 GMT28
My Prius is almost here.  :-)  I keep meaning to ask how one
should drive during the break-in period.  I have read that one
needs to accelerate unaggressively for quite a while (or it
seems like that to one who is used to the opposite).  I have
floor mats22 Aug 2005 02:41 GMT4
Okay, I googled the group, and not much on that.  Do floor
mats that say they fit all (or virtually all) cars fit the

googled in general, and there are too many non=specific

Prius Test Drive18 Aug 2005 03:12 GMT10
I just returned from test driving a Prius for the first time.  I was
quite impressed, but have a few questions:
I drove approximately 5 miles - 50% highway (about 65-70 mph), 50%
stop-and-go (not bumper-to-bumper - just normal traffic on a busy 3-lane

My son has a 2004 Prius with which, this winter, he had a surprising problem
worth mentioning: that car, full of automated controls is allergic to snowy,
