Reconnect with bluetooth phone30 Jun 2006 17:41 GMT2
Each time I start my Prius (2006) I have to reconnect my mobile phone
(Motorola V3I), by: selecting Register phone and on the phone select
Handsfree (Prius).
On the phone and in the car automatic connection is selected.
Oil Change Reminder in 2005 Prius29 Jun 2006 02:36 GMT3
I changed my own oil and filter before the 5000 mile reminder went off.  Now
at 5000 miles, the Maintenance Reminder Light blinks.  I know there is some
way to reset this by starting the car with your finger on certain buttons.
Does anyone know this proceedure?  I'd love to know. ...
About the steering recall29 Jun 2006 02:33 GMT13
Got my notice about the Prius steering shaft defect and recall.   >:o(
Says the dealer will "Inspect and replace if necessary."
So my take is they will look to see if it is broken, and if not, they won't
mess with it.  However, they will bill Toyota for the 1 hour anyhoo.
If the engine fails or you run out of gas27 Jun 2006 20:47 GMT6
If the internal combustion engine fails or the Prius runs out of gas, is
it capable of moving at slow speeds to a safe location? If so, about
what kind of range would it have, assuming the battery has an average
level of capacity?
Fuel capacity24 Jun 2006 00:44 GMT10
For three years my 2003 Prius has never taken more than 10.8 gallons for a
single fill. It's only reached that amount once. I've filled the tank in all
different climates and altitudes.
Imagine my surprise while I'm watching the pump go beyond 11 gallons and

So the tax man in Nebraska needs to raise the price of gas because the
fuel-efficient vehicles are cutting into their coffers?
Now I've heard everything.
One interesting effect22 Jun 2006 15:27 GMT10
Guys,
I've been happy with my 2005 Prius, and praised the systems which keep the
car from skidding on icy roads.  However, I've noticed an unexpected side
effect of this system which could cause potential trouble.
Is VSC worth the money?22 Jun 2006 00:43 GMT8
I'm looking to buy a Prius next month sometime. I'm still unsure which
options I want. Is the Vehicle Stability Control worth buying?

Las Vegas SWM, late 50's (me) meets WWF late 50's on match.com
We're talking on the phone and the subject turns to computers. She
knows I was in the software biz and she's not bad on the puter. So, on
the phone, I ask about meeting tomorrow (now today) for coffee. She
bluetooth phones and passenger: irritation over "safety" feature18 Jun 2006 14:14 GMT5
We just got the car which is great except for this "safety" feature
which is attempting to protect something that does not need protecting.
Two of us take drives together.  Is there any way to disable the
"disable telephone" features while moving.  The passenger would prefer

Pruis and E8511 Jun 2006 02:47 GMT20
Does anyone know if E85 is ok to use in a Prius? I have a 2004 model, and there is some
rumor that E-85 may be available round here soon, so I was wondering.

Fuel consumption10 Jun 2006 05:27 GMT25
I have the intention to buy a Prius, and I am very interested in what the
car really "drinks".
What are the real figures for driving at a constant speed of 60, 70, 80 and
90 mph?
Repair Costs04 Jun 2006 17:10 GMT65
I'm considering purchasing a Prius. Are the repair costs any higher than
for a regular vehicle?
