| Large rear view mirror | 30 Jul 2006 03:11 GMT | 7 |
Anyone else noticed this? That thing takes up a lot of view space. I don't know how many times I've missed seeing a car entering the road from the right side from a driveway or side streeet or whatever due to that huge obstruction. Or is it just my model? I have a mirror that ...

I wish to thank all of the posters in alt.autos.Toyota prius for some excellent & entertaining posts I have been viewing for the past week and a half. I have always thought about a prius as our (wife and I) next car and in reading the post have moved it up to the top of our

| flaky bluetooth phone - Samsung A900 | 28 Jul 2006 05:58 GMT | 1 |
the Samsung A900 is apparently crippled re bluetooth functionality as it cannot upload phone book to Prius, and has a bug where it generates phony incoming call notifications when crossing cell boundaries. So, I have taken to leaving the Bluetooth off on the A900.

| Down to 37 mpg average per tank. | 28 Jul 2006 03:53 GMT | 5 |
Seems the A/C really drops the mileage, maybe 15-20% or more. With daytime temps running close to 110 degrees, the A/C runs almost constantly and fan speed is almost always high. However, the car does stay quite cool and comfortable. Just the mileage

| Small Town Efficiency | 22 Jul 2006 22:29 GMT | 10 |
I live in a small town - 1 mile wide 5 miles long. It has 4 traffic lights and lots of stop signs. We make somewhat less than 1 trip each day through 4 stop signs and 3 traffic lights to town.

| Cruise control | 20 Jul 2006 06:39 GMT | 28 |
In Belgium (sorry for my bad english language) the Prius can be bought in 2 versions. The cheapest version doesn't have cruise control (and has a less sofisticated audio, no fog lights (is this correct english?), and there are also some other minor differences, but I am not ...

| upcoming engine part recall | 18 Jul 2006 21:33 GMT | 1 |
It only affects some Classic Prius (I think some 2001s and maybe 2002s), amongst a whole lot of other cars (like the Corolla). The manufacture date on my 2001 Prius is 12/00, so it looks like I'm fine (see the door jamb plate/under bonnet/hood plate for your production

| comments on "drive" vs "brake" please... | 18 Jul 2006 02:29 GMT | 3 |
my wife owns a 2005 prius, & really is enjoying; we live in central arizona, & have a few "hills" around here. it seems to me ( & i don't drive it often) that it used to be that we would descend a "big" hill, and, if transmission left in "d" we would

410 miles and the gas gauge reads 1/2 full. Fast fills with no frills (stop it at the first click) does work!!

| today's fillup | 15 Jul 2006 18:11 GMT | 24 |
When I filled the tank today, I had 526 miles since the last fillup, according to the consumption screen. It also read 46.9 miles per gallon. That computes to 11.2 gallons consumed. The fill-up took 11.625 gallons.

| Mileage per gas tank | 14 Jul 2006 23:07 GMT | 23 |
I purchased my 2006 prius at the begginig of June. I have since filled up with gas twice and I've gotten about 350 miles/tank of gas. I didn't let it run all the way down but I was down to 1 bar on the gas tank reading. I do mostly city driving, running around town. Shouldn't I ...

| 15,000 mile service | 14 Jul 2006 16:48 GMT | 5 |
My 2005 Prius is due for 15,000 mile service and in calling around to local Toyota dealers I'm shocked to find that the estimated cost is $130 to $170, and that's without the "cabin air filter" which they all say probably needs replacing at another $56 to $69. Yikes!
