2007 Prius I didn't realize that it would be so important to monitor the oil in this car. The manual states that one quart of 5W-30 is used up by normal use

When the ICE shuts off when not required and battery power is motivating the vehicle does the air conditioning shut off as well? Is the compressor operated by a belt connected to the ICE's cranshaft like all other cars or is the Prius system different?

| How to get Better Gas Mileage | 11 Jun 2007 19:40 GMT | 23 |
This spring I made a discovery that increased by gas mileage from 46 mpg to about 53 mpg. Quite simple. When you accelerate keep your eye on the instantaneous mileage bar. Accelerate slowly enough to keep it at 99 mpg up to about 18 -20 mph. Hard to do past that speed. Then

| 07 Prius Break Noise | 09 Jun 2007 13:35 GMT | 7 |
I just bought an 07 Prius and didnt notice any odd noise until about 1000 miles. The noise I am noticing is what sounds like a break pump or equivilant coming from the engine compartment. At a stop or shortly after almost every stop this sound kicks in for about 3 seconds. I took ...

| One more Prius to the roads in a very unusual way (GMAP project) | 07 Jun 2007 09:00 GMT | 3 |
>From some time now I have been watching close hybrid cars. When the feeling got strong I went to test a Toyota Prius and just loved it! The feeling of riding it in EV-mode is kind of like riding a bicycle :)

| Offsetting your SUV | 04 Jun 2007 17:45 GMT | 4 |
If you plant some trees, is it OK to drive an Escalade? The question isn't as silly as it sounds. People worried about global warming increasingly are trying to "offset" the carbon dioxide - the leading greenhouse gas - they spew into the atmosphere when they drive, fly or

I'm going for the blue one. I have owned gold cars for so long, I need a change. Is it hard to keep clean? I like gold because it never shows dirt. I had a black car ONCE and never again :-) The dealer has Option package 2 + 6 Disc changer on the lot (I could care

| reserve fuel | 02 Jun 2007 17:02 GMT | 41 |
How much gas is in the tank when the fuel warning comes on? I have just bought a used 05. Twice the warning has come on and I've only been able to put about 9 gallons in the tank. Doesn't the tank hold 12 gallons? Do I really have 3 gallons left in the tank? There is one way

| Considering a Prius, a few questions? | 02 Jun 2007 16:50 GMT | 19 |
Is regular maintenance a nightmare to do yourself? I want to be able to change the oil, and fluids without taking it to a dealer. Do it on all my Hondas, but wonder if there are Gotcha's with the Prius (no access to filter, etc.) ?
