I am on the road most of the time for business and I am considering a 2008 Toyota Pruis. Often my car becomes my office for up to a few hours a day. The engine must run to keep the car cool or warm, depending on the outdoor weather of the region I am in.

The power / generator modules are coupled via a planetary gear set. The wheels together with the electric motor are on the ring gear, the gas engine is on the planet gears, and the generator is on the sun gear. HAVE I GOT THIS RIGHT, OR WHAT SHOULD IT BE, & THANKS?

Using the B mode for long downhill grades is recommended. Other than not riding the brakes, does this gain you anything? Does it generate more juice for the battery like braking? If not, it seems counter productive. G-Man
