98 Tacoma 4wd Brakes Question26 Sep 2003 21:26 GMT2
The warning light on my dash for the brakes has been on intermittently
lately.  This problem started at the end of last winter but went away all
summer until now when we are getting cold nights again here in upstate NY.
From what I've noticed, it only lights up on cold mornings ...

I'm dismayed by my recent discovery that my 2003 Tundra 4x2 SR5 Access Cab
lacks a transmission cooler. I don't want to burn up the transmission
prematurely when hauling heavy loads, so I need your help.
Q1) Anyone have a part # for a Toyota transmission cooler to install on my

1995 4Runner Question26 Sep 2003 00:19 GMT3
Recently my 4Runner has had a rougher time starting (22re). If I do
not pump the gas once it will not start. If I pump it once it starts
fine.
Also after driving the vehicle around town for any period of time you

I'm trying to decide betw an '01 Tacoma 4wd w/30k miles or an '03 2wd
w/locking differential w/6k miles. Are there any major engine changes
betw 01-03?
I'm also wondering about the dependability of the 4wd vs 2wd. I don't

New 4Runners25 Sep 2003 00:55 GMT1
I don't know about other dealerships but in my area (northeast), the
majority (90%) of the new 4runners I see on the lot are those overpriced
Limited models. So far I've only seen ONE Sport and some SR5's, but
mostly Limited's. Isn't it redundant that there are more "Limited" than
Smoke24 Sep 2003 14:35 GMT2
I have a 82 FJ40 with a 2F engine. some of the time the engine puts out a
white smoke at stop lights and lets out black smoke when changing gears. Are
these signs of a engine going bad?
Tie Rod problems? MDT tech?24 Sep 2003 03:14 GMT4
A while ago when I was having my tires rotated on my 98 taco 4x4 v6. the
mechanic showed me that the front driver tire can be shaken when it was on
the lift.  He told me I needed a new tie rod.  The service guy at the dealer
told me there was almost no way it was a tie rod because ...
'85 1-ton engine dilemma24 Sep 2003 02:11 GMT1
I am new to this group, but figured this was the place to ask questions.
2.5 weeks ago my 85 Toyota 1-ton blew it's rod bearing.
Instead of replacing the engine again, I opted for another truck.
I got a 86 extra-cab, longbed (yes it has both and is really long) in

03 4runner limited 4x4 v823 Sep 2003 16:49 GMT9
Just got it. The side-door arm rest is too low. I have to slump down to rest
my arm on it which is highly uncomfortable. Does anyone make any after
market items that can somehow raise the arm-rest, or add to it so that it is
higher?
Tundra Problems23 Sep 2003 15:55 GMT8
I own an '01 Tundra Access Cab, 4x4, TRD, Limited.  I ordered and
bought this truck new at Marietta Toyota in Marietta, GA in April '01.
I got a pretty good deal on the truck and the delivery of the truck
and treatment of me as a customer was second to none.

I am planning on buying a 03 or 04 2wd Xtra cab. I have read several
things about the seats and I would like some opinnions. Are they
really that bad? and Should I get the bucket seats instead of the
standard bench seat?
