81 pickup seat swap18 Sep 2003 14:20 GMT1
I have an '81 4wd pickup, and I would like to replace the seats with
something more comfortable (hopefully with a lumbar support)  Anyone
have any good ideas on what seats may be easy to swap?  Will seats
from a newer truck fit?  Or some other modern car?  I am willing to do
Wiring Diagrams18 Sep 2003 13:43 GMT2
Anyone know of a source for quality wiring diagrams?  My truck is a
2WD 1986 pickup, with a M/T and a 22RE engine.
I've been trying to use the one in the back of the Haynes book, but
since it covers a range of ten years, it's far too general.

tools will I need?  Are there any special tools needed?  Maybe there
is a website that lays this out.
Help identifying noise16 Sep 2003 23:33 GMT6
Hi List,
Son's 4wd pickup, an 86 I think, 4 cyl., has a noise we are trying to
figure out. It is a light erratic tiny sound, a bit like a rattling
piece of shielding, but seems to be coming from engine front or maybe
need a good Tranny man in N. Georgia16 Sep 2003 16:28 GMT1
My 91 4x4 with automatic is sick, again, thinking of swapping to a man
5-speed and solving the problems once-and-for-all.
(this truck has been babied,never off the road, never used for towing;
but this A34H tranny was a $$$$ eater once it reached 97K)
'02 Taco 4x2 DBL Cab V6 - Brake Light Problem15 Sep 2003 22:58 GMT1
Howdy.  My dash light for Brakes comes on and stays on regardless of where
the parking brake is positioned.  Anyone know if this could be linked to a
computer code that just needs to be reset.  Non ABS, pads & shoes seem to be
fine.  Brakes feel good.
Tundra & Hellwig Stabilizer ...15 Sep 2003 21:34 GMT4
I've read a lot of good things about this stabilizer. Is there a
downside to having this installed? And I'm curious, if it's as good an
addition as I've read, why isn't something like it an option from the
factory.
1992 22RE valve adjustments15 Sep 2003 19:08 GMT2
My Haynes  maintenance book indicated that I need to adjust the valves
when the engine is hot. But when I was talking to a mechanic friend,
he says that I can make the adjustments on a cold engine, just use a
different gauge feeler. Is this possible? If so, what gauge should I

Do my V8 4Runner need a tranny cooler to pull 3000 lbs trailer?15 Sep 2003 06:58 GMT6
I plan to do some towing up to high country 7000+ ft altitude. It's a
