| Splitting brake calipers | 31 May 2004 23:14 GMT | 1 |
Toyota Hilux - 1993. Why the brake calipers shouldn't be splitted? I've already splitted mine - what to do now? It seems to me that they can be reassembled, with use of Loctite?! Unfortunately, I've come in those warning messages just after my

| Six Month Oil Changes | 31 May 2004 13:10 GMT | 15 |
The maintenance guide for my 2000 Toyota Tacoma recommends changing the oil either every 5,000 miles or 7,500 miles, depending on driving conditions, but at least every six months. I was wondering why change it at least every six months if, for example, I only drive 1,000 miles

| Shocking suggestions | 30 May 2004 07:21 GMT | 1 |
I own a 97 Tacoma 4x4. I replaced the original shocks when I bought it used three or four years ago with Monroe's. Noticing the front wheels hopping more than usual lately, I inspected the front shocks and found oil all over the bottom half on the left shock. Never a

I have a toyota p/up. The a/c used to work perfect, until i did some engine work on the truck recently. The clutch stop engaging, which I think is just some wiring problem. But after I temporarily reestablished the connection, the a/c is still not cold. I didnt turn on the ac for ...

| AC Indicator light not working | 29 May 2004 05:43 GMT | 3 |
Just had my 89 Toyota 4x4 AC recharged. Decided to recharge the R-12 rather than convert to R-134. It should last for several more years. The green AC indicator light doesn't work. The light on the button acted strange two years ago when the AC performance gradually

| clutch release bearing or not? | 29 May 2004 04:08 GMT | 10 |
Here's the situation. My 95 taco v6 4wd. During idle or while moving, regardless of the RPM, a "bearing-like" sound can be heard. It's kind of like a whistle. Like I said, it doesn't matter if it's in gear or not, nothing changes the sound, except one thing. If I push the ...

| couldn't get my rotors off | 29 May 2004 03:38 GMT | 4 |
I _planned_ to get my rotors turned when I just recently did my front brake job, but I could not get the rotors off (95 taco 4wd v6). Those little cone shaped washers were really pressed in there which prevented me from getting the rotors off. I used the lugs which when tightened ...

| Oil Disappearing | 29 May 2004 03:33 GMT | 2 |
My '85 SR5 ExtraCab pickup has 151,000 miles on it. The last few weeks I've noticed that it is using a quart of oil about every 300 miles. It doesn't leak and I can't see it smoke. Anyone got any ideas where the oil is going? My neighbor said that the

| A view of a Toyota Hilux needed. | 28 May 2004 21:06 GMT | 2 |
Does anyone have any comments on the relative merits of a Toyota Hilux extra cab against a Nissan single cab pickup? The Toyota dealerships in my part of the UK do not have this version of the Hilux to view. Does anyone nearby have either one of these vehicles I can look at? I am ...

| Durabak DIY bedliner | 28 May 2004 19:32 GMT | 21 |
Anybody ever hear of this stuff-looks to be a polyurethane coating with rubber chunks in it similiar to what the franchises like Rhino spray on but for a fraction of the cost. Am buying new Tundra and want to protect the bed and not spend $500+.
