Anyone know how to reset the maintence reminder light on dash of an 03 4Rnr?
Problems and quality concerns with newer toyotas,  Anyone had these?  2003 Taco 4x411 Jul 2004 01:26 GMT27
I have owned toyotas for 18 years,  and put a total of  500 000 km or so on
a  78 Hilux pickup ,89 4 Runner, and a 92 4 Runner.   All which I bought
used at around 100 000km.    Of those miles I put on them,  I'd say 150 000
km were on back roads and ROUGH duty off road.   I've ...
Engine warning light problem10 Jul 2004 20:59 GMT10
On my '88 4runner with V6 engine, I've been noticing that the "Charge" and
"Brake" warning lights flicker momentarily once in a while.  I never notice it
during the day, just when driving at night.  It can go for a half hour without
happenning, other times they flicker on and off ...
over fill motor oil10 Jul 2004 18:31 GMT18
The mechanic over filled the motor oil by 2 quarts.
I noticed loss power and drove the car for about 1K miles.
Will this damage my car permanently?
Thanks
2003 Fourrunner 6cyl Problems10 Jul 2004 16:16 GMT2

Head gasket... 96 taco10 Jul 2004 01:54 GMT2
Toyota is replacing the head gasket on my 96 Taco with the v6. What are any
other items that should be done you think with 125k on the motor, while the
top is torn down?
thanks
Toyota Head10 Jul 2004 00:53 GMT4
Replaced the head gasket on what I thought was a 22R. The exhaust gasket
had two stud holes between cyls 2-3. My head has only one. Is this a 20R
head? Never thought to measure the cyl bore when the head was off, so I
don't know what engine I have.
Cargo Light?09 Jul 2004 21:23 GMT2
Trivial but why doesn't Toyota offer a cargo light even as an option like
most of the other truck manufacturers?  It wouldn't cost much considering
the center stop light housing is already there.
Warm Idle09 Jul 2004 19:59 GMT1
I've got a '88 V6 pickup that won't idle when warm.   Idles and runs
great when first started, but once it warms up, it stalls at idle - as
if the idle speed is too low.
Is there a warm idle setting on this engine ?
Tacoma Keys?09 Jul 2004 17:03 GMT4
While thumbing through the owner's manual I noticed that 3 keys are supposed
to be included with the purchase of a Tacoma, one with a plastic coated head
and the others just plain.  Is this correct?  If so, I only got the two
plain ones.  Yeah, I know it's trivial but what the heck.
85 22r possible coolant leak spots?09 Jul 2004 13:33 GMT1
I have a 22r in a 85 truck. Noticed that the coolant level was dropping,
then when it got really hard to turn over one morning, with lotsa white
smoke. Pulled the head, looked at the head gasket, didn't see any obvious
signs of coolant leak . So I bought another head gasket , put in ...
Good Cleaner/Wax for '97 Taco08 Jul 2004 20:23 GMT6
The wax I have been using on my truck (97 Taco with 93,000 city miles) seems
to have lost it's magic. There are a bunch of little white spots on the hood
and roof that no longer go away when I wax her. I am afraid to just use a
cleaner on her for fear I will bore right through the ...
Timing chain conversion kit for 3.4 V-6?08 Jul 2004 07:34 GMT5
I have a 2001 toyota tundra, i just bought from the dealer with 34,000
miles on it. i like Toyota anything, but one thing i don't like about my
full size truck's V-6 motor is the fact that it uses an internal timing
belt(?)
generic replacement for differential crush washers?08 Jul 2004 07:19 GMT4
My local dealership charges me almost a buck a piece (not to mention I have
to drive all the way across town) for the differential drain and fill crush
washers for my 1994 4x4 pickup.  These are a hollow aluminum washer, I
believe.  Can I use the generic solid aluminum or solid ...
Engine won't start08 Jul 2004 04:02 GMT1
When I attempt to start my '94 4Runner, the engine makes a loud
ticking noise, and does not start.  The battery seems to be fine, and
all electronic accessories work.  I assume that this is the starter,
but it might be the alternator.  I know only enough about cars to be
