I have a Toyota Tacoma (2x4) truck. Just recently, I noticed that when I'm driving at freeway speeds (over about 50 mph), I can hear a high pitched squeal (whistle?) sound coming from the right rear wheel area.

Finally took the plunge and traded in the old 4Runner on a new model. That front area looks pretty vulnerable, where the old one had a plate protecting things. Anyone know of solutions other than what appears to be the (spendy) standard

I just installed a Marlin Crawler re-built L-52 HD 5 spd in my 80 Toyota. Filled the trans and transfer with GL-5 80-90W gear oil. I plan to change to a synthetic at 4-500 mi. Can anyone recommend a good off the shelf oil?
