others.
I may drop a new/rebuilt engine in myself or have a shop that I trust do the
K&N 57 or 77 Series FIPK?17 Dec 2004 07:18 GMT1
I just started looking into these K&N products and the immediate differences
I can see are that the 77 comes in the chrome-type finish and otherwise only
$2 difference from the 57.  This would be the first mod I have done to my
'99 PreRunner with the 3.4L V6 engine (88,000 mi) so I ...
Tacoma selectable lockers17 Dec 2004 05:32 GMT1
Can anybody out there suggest some options for selectable differential
lockers that can be installed on a '99 4WD Tacoma? The ARB lockers sound
pretty good, but are there any aftermarket electric lockers available for
the Tacoma?
Starter question & idling update...17 Dec 2004 00:57 GMT3
Does anyone know what makes a starter stick when it's very cold outdoors?
Everytime I start the engine the starter doesn't dis-engage. Even after I
shut it off it keeps on cranking for about 5-10 seconds before it stops,
then I can start the engine normally without any problem. I ...

I have a 96 4Runner with a manual transmission.  93K. 5sp 3.4L. Clutch is
original.   I bought it from the original owner and have a question about
the transmission.  Is it normal to only be able to engage first gear when
the truck is stopped?  I find that it will not go into 1st if ...

I've got an '87 PU, 2WD that just started to overheat. Coolant seems to be
good. Stays at a good temp. if I drive with the heat on all the time. Does
this seem like the thermostat has gone bad? Any other ideas if this isn't
it?
Burning brake smell16 Dec 2004 10:02 GMT3
...but it's not burning brakes.
Driving down the highway yesterday, I noticed that smell that tell you that
you're behind someone who's got their parking brake on at 55mph. Really bad.
Got off the highway, right into 15mph traffic - too slow to really clear the

Looking for a source for traction bars and/or ladder bars to stop the axel

96 4Runner Mileage Issues14 Dec 2004 03:12 GMT2
Over the past few months I've noticed a drop in gas mileage on my 1996
4Runner.  I keep maintenance up to date....check tire pressure every 2
weeks, recently replaced the plugs (with denso from the dealer), and rotate
the tires every 10k.  The truck runs fine but my gas mileage ...
Dash Speakers - 94 Pick-up14 Dec 2004 03:05 GMT19
I need to replace the 4" dash speakers in my 94 4X4 since the existing 15
watt's are thrashed.
I am looking for some higher end 2-way speakers that can handle the power my
Alpine head unit puts out.
Tire pressure warning light13 Dec 2004 16:27 GMT5
I purchased some rims for my 03 tundra.  The tire pressure warning light is
on because the sensors would not fit into the new rims.  Does anyone know
how to disable this feature? Or will I have to take it to the dealer?
Thanks
'89 4WD V6 Idle Problem13 Dec 2004 12:42 GMT2
I have an odd problem..
My truck has about 266,000 miles on it, and runs almost perfectly, except
recently it started "stuttering" when my foot is on the brake. More often
than not, when I have the brake applied, the engine idle drops suddenly to

Okay, here it is, start the 92 pick_up, squealing sound, squealing goes away
