'04 Tacoma Early Impressions28 Feb 2005 22:18 GMT12
Well, I've had my 2004 Tacoma Prerunner, 2WD (with TRD package) for about a
month now.  Here's my early impressions of it.  This is the first truck I've
owned in years after nothing but 4-door sedans, the last being a Mitsubishi
Diamante.

Got a 94 4Runner V6 A/T 4x4 with 150k. Over the last month or so I have
noticed while accelerating gradually, the engine RPM seems to fluctuate.
I can feel the fluctuation and notice the slight needle movement on the
tach. It doesnt seem to do it while at a stop or idling. Ive ...

I am thinking of towing (tow dolly or otherwise) a toyota corrolla (1595 KG)
with a one-tonne 2wd toyota pickup long-box  2.4 fuel-injected (weighs 2494
KG). Uhaul says it is not recommended but when they enter the tow ...
V8 in a 4Runner28 Feb 2005 12:13 GMT2
I know you can put a small block Checy, or a Ford engine into a 4Runner, and
that you can put the ford engine in without having to lift it, but the chevy
engine works best with a lift kit. What I would like to knowis, has anyone
ever heard of someone putting a Big Block Chevy, ...

I just bought a 2002 Tundra Limited Access Cab. Everything is great,
except there is a clicking sound coming from the dashbaord area that is
driving me nuts! I can't seem to locate the source, but it is quite
loud and only occurs when the vehicle is moving. Any ideas, help!!!

Threw a rod....27 Feb 2005 07:20 GMT2
My friend just had her timing belt replaced last week.  She took a road
trip (250 miles maybe) this weekend and on her way into work this
morning, she threw a rod.  What are the chances these two things are
related?  She talked to the mechanic (same one she's been going to for
92 Pickup Heater Control Panel Removal27 Feb 2005 04:10 GMT2
Does anyone know how to remove the heater/ac control panel on 1992 pickup?
I have disasembled the dash to the extent necessary to remove the radio, but
can't see how to remove the control panel, or more specificly, the blower
switch assembly.
Alas, alack and alay26 Feb 2005 22:21 GMT1
I can't buy a new Prerunner like the one I have now.  Mine is an '01 regular
cab and I'm told I can't get a 6-cyl without getting an extended cab.  And
to top it all off, my Leer topper won't fit on the new bed!  That damned
topper cost me nearly a grand!  And I'll wager I won't get ...

SLOW windows on 96 Landcruiser25 Feb 2005 12:38 GMT5
Our 1996 Landcruiser has electric windows that move very slowly.  Sometimes
we wonder if they will close!  Is this normal in Landcruisers or do we have
some loss of electrical power to the window motors?
Thank you.
enginbuilder25 Feb 2005 00:29 GMT2
Has anyone dealt with enginebuilder at enginebuilder.com?  I see his
advertisements on ebay and his prices are waaay below dealer prices.
His ads claim that his parts are certified to be exact replacements for
OEM parts.
Tundra fuel gage drop23 Feb 2005 03:57 GMT2
Twice now when traveling down a highway, from a high altitude to a lower, my
fuel gage went from 3/4 full to below empty, then return to 3/4.  None of
the other gages have erratic readings during this time.  Anyone notice the
same thing happening?
