'90 4Runner Rear bumper needs fix'n.19 Feb 2005 21:37 GMT6
Got rear ended for the second time yesterday.  Both times I was at a light.
The first time a girl with huge slippers had her foot slip off the brake.  I
have no idea why it happened the second time.
Both hits were very low speed and aside from a slight dent in the bumper

'93 Toyota Pickup Problems (again!)19 Feb 2005 04:33 GMT6
I posted about a month ago regarding a 93 Toyota pickup losing
antifreeze and the engine revving on its own. (original message below).
After a second try at the Toyota dealer, they found a leak (where
hoses connect to a valve at the  firewall) and we thought it was fixed.
talk me out of buying a '97 Land Cruiser?19 Feb 2005 01:38 GMT1
I want one of these as a family adventure vehicle.  I am attracted by the
size of the vehicle combined with the fact that it's a Toyota.  I have kids
and dogs and it seems perfect for getting us all, and a bunch of
camping/canoeing/skiing/etc crap, to the places I like to go, which ...

I'm looking to do an exhaust system on an 04 Tundra 4.7 liter.  I've looked
at Bassani, Borla, Banks monster, and a few shops trying to talk me into
kits they do with flowmaster systems.  I'm more interested in good looks and
and strong sound than anything else.  Anyone have any ...
Getting trapped air out of cooling / heater system18 Feb 2005 00:13 GMT2
Does anyone here have any suggestions as to how to go about getting trapped
air out of the cooling / heating system? Both the front and rear heaters
used to work fine, but recently the rear heater stopped getting hot and I

How do you break in an engine properly?17 Feb 2005 20:51 GMT8
I've read Chiltons and FSM recommendations.  Turn the engine over 10 seconds
before starting.  Change oil at 500, 1,500 and 3,000.  Don't lug the engine,
don't drive at high speeds for the first 100 miles, don't set cruise control
for the first 1,000 miles.  Don't drive it hard.

1990 4Runner Stalling Mystery (Sorry, kind of long)17 Feb 2005 14:51 GMT3
I posted a message here a while ago about how my 1990 4Runner SR5 V6 (~160k)
had been stalling out on me regardless of whether the engine was hot or
cold, but never really got any definitive replies, so I'm going to try again
with what's currently happening to it.
4runner help17 Feb 2005 04:12 GMT2
Not sure why, but every time I post a message - it disappears after a week
or so.
My fuel guage has gone crazy - I gave my brother a jump start, some sparks
flew and now my fuel guage doesn't work.
shifting problem with automatic17 Feb 2005 01:43 GMT2
I am considering buying a 02 tacoma 6cyl with 4 wheel drive (TRD)
automatic.  I took it to a toyota dealer and it checked out ok,except for
a shifting issue. Shifting seems to be sticky.  It doesn't shift until
rpm's are up around 3000, and sometimes 4000 for third gear. First and
