Goober seemed to have same problem? Replaced alternator but charge light
stays on and I don't think battery is charging. fuel guage and
taillights don't work,

I have an '89 Toyota Truck with a V-6 engine.  Every once in awhile it just
will not start.  I turn the key and there's no click, it's just dead but
I'm able to push start it.  

Does anyone know what's supposed to keep the ash tray in the closed position
