Cam chain problems with 22R engine29 Jun 2005 15:19 GMT5
My son in-law's Toyota pickup had the cam chain slipper fell down inside
the engine.  I don't have the manual in front of me but this is the
curved cam chain guide that is attached with 2 bolts on the left side of
the engine (from the drivers viewpoint.)  This engine was supposed ...
22R Toyota Pickup MPG29 Jun 2005 10:13 GMT18
Lately to save my wallet from the GAS demons.  I've been driving my 86
Toyota Pickup Home Depot beater, on local errands around town.  Though most
of my driving is City, I get about 20 MPG.  Is that good?
On a side note, I recently passed a SMOG test with flying colors, way below

I've got a 4x4 taco with V6 and 5 speed.  Sometimes when I try to put the
tranny in reverse, the shifter just wont go into reverse.  It does not
grind at all, it simply won't let me into reverse.  The cure is put the
truck in first, raise the clutch pedal slightly until the clutch ...

2003 Tundra V8 Gas Mileage28 Jun 2005 02:59 GMT11
Just bought new Tundra V8 and love it except gas mileage.  Figured it
wouldn't be the best being a V8, but its a little less than I expected.
Just wondering what others are getting around town and on the highway.
Thanks,
2005 Taco 4.0L MPG28 Jun 2005 01:34 GMT7
Just wanted to solicit opinions from other Tacoma drivers.  I had a 2003
3.4L 4WD TRD O/R 5-spd until a 40' Poplar decided to crush it.  Over 38,000
miles I averaged 18.7 MPG (yes, I'm bored enough to track each tank).  I
have just over 4,000 miles on the 2005 4.0L 4WD TRD O/R 6-spd ...

NWOR 2" Soft Ride Lift on an '85 pickup not so smooth??!27 Jun 2005 16:22 GMT1
About 6 months ago i installed a 2" Northwest Offroad lift on my 85

Tires for 2000 4runner27 Jun 2005 09:33 GMT6
I need to get a set of high quality tires.  I do not drive off road
and most of my driving is local or within 50 miles.  In my area we
have a Sears, Firestone, Goodyear, Tire Kingdom and a few independent
dealers.  Any suggestions. If you need more info I can post it.
