86 turbo pickup transmission30 Sep 2005 04:18 GMT1
Got an 86 4wd turbo pickup here that i'm restoring.
I'm stuck at the tranny. Not sure to rebuild or get a
used one. Can't imagine what toyota wants for a new
one. Any opinions? Anybody know of a good source
'98 4Runner starting problem29 Sep 2005 18:45 GMT7
I have a 1998 4Runner with a 4 cylinder engine.  I tried to start it
this morning and it took 3 times for it to start.  The first two times
it seemed like the battery was dead (i.e. no engine noise) however the
radio came on (I can't remember if any of the dash lights were on).
Tacoma tune up29 Sep 2005 15:55 GMT5
It's time for first tune up and warranty is out would you
recommend taking it to Toyota dealer or would a good tune
up shop do as good?
Toyota dealer is in different town.
2005 Tacoma Louder Turn Signal Relay29 Sep 2005 05:45 GMT2
I thought I'd share this little simple add-on to my new 2005 Tacoma 4WD
dbl-cab TRD. When signaling while switching lanes, I cannot readily hear my
turn signal flasher clicking, especially with window-down road noise and/or
CD playing. Daylight sun obscures WEAK the turn signal ...
Lack of power - 22RE29 Sep 2005 03:06 GMT18
I have a 1990 Toyota 4x4 with a 22RE engine.  I've replaced plugs,
distributor cap and rotor and everything else seems to be in order.
However, on acceleration, if you depress the pedal about half way,
acceleration is sluggish until the RPM get up a bit when it will just

02 tacoma cruise control29 Sep 2005 01:29 GMT5
The cruise control on my '02 Tacoma appears to be too sensitive.  It drops
one and sometimes two gears on low inclines.  Is this normal and if not is
there a way to adjust the cruise control sensitivity?
Thanks

I am looking to buy a Tundra SR5 4x4 and was wondering Is there any
benefits to getting the rear end limited slip differential on a 4x4?
Screeching noise 1989 SR528 Sep 2005 14:09 GMT4
I have a Toyota SR5 long bed, 6 cylinder, 2-wheel drive, 1989, manual
transmission and 145,000 miles. Recently, I noticed a screeching noise
coming from the rear. This specifically happens when accelerating or
decelerating. If I disengage the engine by pressing on the clutch ...

Fuel filter location 2002 toyota 4-runner28 Sep 2005 04:58 GMT3
Anyone know the location?  I didn't want to pull all the skid plates to
try to find it.
Tacoma 4WD brake rotors28 Sep 2005 01:04 GMT2
It may be the way I drive but I tend to go through (glaze, I suspect)
front brake rotors quickly.   I've found that the OEM Toyota rotors
tend to last the longest before needing to be replaced or resurfaced -
approzimately 20-24 months.   I don't wear grooves or anything ust

Anyone have a writeup or pics on replacement of the rear rotors?  Inside pad
tore one up pretty good ... outside pad still has 10K of service left so the
inside one must have come apart.  In any case, new rotors are in order.  If
someone knows the min rotor thickness it may be ...
