I know this subject has been discussed here already to some degree but I
wanted to revist it.  I have an 89 22RE pickup with 200k miles.  It gets
about 25mpg highway without any load up here at 7000' elevation.  It's not
too bad on the mountain passes but it still dogs out and I ...
Parking Brake Light11 Oct 2005 20:06 GMT1
I have a '91 2X4 in which the parking brake light will "come on" when I
accelerate quickly or am going up a steep incline. I've checked all the
wires and connections but have not yet replaced the switch with the
depression button at the base of the parking brake rod. Is it possible ...
Trouble Code P017111 Oct 2005 17:19 GMT8
My "Check Engine" light and my "VSC" and "VSC Off" lights came on.
The code reader gave me the following code and message "P0171 / system too
lean bank 1". This is the only code to show up.
What is wrong and how do I correct it?

Want to put some 15" wheels on my little pickup. Who makes some good cheap
aluminum wheels that will fit the 4.5" x 5 hole pattern?

Can someone recommend the best kit on the market?

High Beams 1994 Pick Up10 Oct 2005 19:40 GMT11
I have a 1994 Toyota Pick Up.  The headlights work fine accept when I go to
put the high beams on.  The high beam light comes on in the dash but the
headlights go out completely, leaving just the running lights.  If I pull
back on the switch and hold it, the high beams will come ...
Charging System Lite on Dash09 Oct 2005 05:06 GMT2
I have a 1987 4 x 4 Toyota truck with a 22R 4cyl engine.  Recently, the
alternator seized and broke the belt.  I replaced the alternator and the
belt but now when I start the truck, the charging lite and emergency brake
lite on the instrument panel stay lit.  I've had the charging ...
22r valve adjustment stone cold09 Oct 2005 03:52 GMT2
I'm wondering what setting to adjust valves on a stone cold 22r-te motor.
I've had them adjusted at the shop and they are pretty quiet.
They were also very quiet after the shop rebuild.
Seems like whenever I follow procedure in the service manual they sound
Check Engine, VSC Off, VSC Trac lights all lit up - 2002 4Runner 3.408 Oct 2005 06:47 GMT2
Recently all 3 lights came on and stayed on. The truck has 38,000 miles.
I did a search on the net and all I'm finding is it could be the O2 sensor,
a loose gas cap (checked and OK), or a cat converter.
Has anyone had any experience with this situation?
Knocking in 2000 Tundra V807 Oct 2005 16:59 GMT1
I've had my Tundra for 4 years now.  It has 72k, 50k when I bought it, and
on every startup it "knocks".  It sounds like an exhaust leak but it goes
away after a little while.  It doesn't matter if its winter or summer, hot
or cold it does it.  It seems that, lately,  it takes ...
Can RAV4 bumpers and cladding be painted?07 Oct 2005 03:08 GMT1
Paint that would last, that is.  Does anyone know what the bumper
material is? Would they have to be removed, and how difficult is that?
Ditto for the side cladding: what holds it in place?
Thanks, Alan

certain part from Internet?
2005 plastic beds & tailgates06 Oct 2005 21:39 GMT4
I've had pick up trucks all my life, different makes, models, a ford, a
mazda, international harvester scout,  two tacomas and a tundra, and now
this 2005 tacoma. I have found that toyotas are the best running trucks on
the market.
2006 Tundra with Vehicle Stability06 Oct 2005 09:40 GMT8
Getting ready to order a 2006 Tundra 4X4 dbl cab. Having a hard time
finding any with the Vehicle Stability Control option, which is
available on lots of Toyota's cars and SUV's. Any idea as to why they
don't put it on Tundras? My dealer only found 3 in the entire western US.
