I'm shopping around for a Toyota pickup and was just wondering what you guys thought of both of these motors? I'm looking for an extended cab 4x4 and in my area they are few and far between (and the ones that are around are really pricey, but i guess you get what you pay for ...

I want to switch my 1990 2wd 2.4 4 cyl from 4 sp man trans to 5 sp. Can I use the same shifter, just get a new knob. Are there any bolt up or fit differences? Any driveshaft changes needed?

In some States Tire chains are illegal, in other states there mandatory. In fact some chains are made for mud and snow for the real off road freak... ;) (1.) Do you have (S/M or A/T) tires? (2.) How about chains, do you have a set or two?

New to the group and the Taco family. I bought a 2005 Tacoma back in April of this year. The Taco has 9000 miles on it and appears to be running great. The truck has the 6cyc 6 speed tranny extended cab with the 6' bed and off road package.
