Toyota oil gauge stopped working and oil still flowing24 May 2006 11:51 GMT5
My '90 toyota pickup oil pressure dial has stopped working after I changed
the oil and filter. I only drove it a few miles when I noticed it was not
working. Truck has 193K miles and new oil seal was put in 3 months ago.
I waited until the next morning so all the oil would be ...
Timing Belt Inspection???23 May 2006 22:39 GMT8
Recently purchased a '96 T100 with a 3.4 V6 engine. The Truck is clean and
appears to be well maintained but has 140k + miles and I am concerned about
the timing belt . Hate to put down 250 + $ right now and was wondering if it
would make sense to have someone pull the Tbelt ...
86 PU OverDrive problem23 May 2006 12:39 GMT1
I'm trying to diagnose a problem with my 86 Toyota PU 22R Automatic, Home
Depot beater.  I don't drive this much on the hi-way, but once in while I
need to get on the freeway.  The engine strains at 65mph. I figured out the
OD button the shifter does not work, nor does the OD light ...
99 tacoma clutch/tranny problem  ?23 May 2006 05:47 GMT3
I have a 99 tacoma 4x4 w/ 6inches of lift on 33s. Ever so often i'll be
starting from a stop and I'll release the clutch and my stick will jump
from 1st into neutral. Is that a clutch or tranny problem or both? And
is there a simple test to check my clutch? I have 96K miles.
Oil Gauge stopped!!!!23 May 2006 04:47 GMT5
While driving to work one past morning I watched  as my oil pressure gauge
bottomed out, flat lined. My gut reaction was to "shut 'er down". Now, this
oil gauge belongs to a 90 4Runner with 3VZE engine that has about 90,000
after a factory rebuild. THere is 167,000 on the ODE! I ...
Favorite Board?22 May 2006 17:11 GMT3
HI;
What is your favorite board for getting advice on repair/maintenance on
Toyota Trucks?  This one seems not bad, but I have the sense that people
have migrated somewhere else.

Strange TOY since check engine22 May 2006 03:11 GMT3
I know this is going to sound strange, but I asked recently about my check
engine light being on and how to correct it. Well,  my gas mileage has gone
UP. According to my calculations I am now getting 19.2 MPG whereas I used to
only get 15-17 MPG. Could it be true? I got 314 ...

Group 1 Automotive Dealership Boycott21 May 2006 07:08 GMT4
In effort to fight what we believe to be unfair sales and labor
practices as well as stand up for  Hispanic women's right to work in
a company dominated by white males - Group 1 Automotive, Inc., we're
organizing a boycott of the Group 1 Automotive, Inc. Dealerships.
Tacoma 2006: weird noise at ignition.21 May 2006 04:33 GMT7
I am wondering if anyone has heard of the following problem and/or may
know what is going on?
When I start the engine (only when cold and only once per day as far
as I can tell), there will be a strange shimmy/whine that seems to
'94 4Runner20 May 2006 23:47 GMT1
Hi;
Have a 1994 4Runner that needs one front sway bar bushing replaced.
There are "upgrade" kits that make this claim:  "Polyurethane bushings are
made to last a lifetime."   They (MAKO) claim rubber bushings don't last.

1991 Toyota 3.0 V-6 Knock Sensor data20 May 2006 15:43 GMT1
I just had to troubleshoot and error code 52 on my truck and found
the following information I thought I would share.  The knock sensor
can be tested by using a digital multi meter like a fluke 83 (cheaper
models do not detect the knock sensor signal).  Put the meter on AC
'97 T-100 brake rotor upgrade suggestions??20 May 2006 14:46 GMT1
My current rotors have been cut once and are warped. This time I'd like
to upgrade. Maybe slotted and/or drilled. Any suggestions? A particular
brand? While I wouldn't mind rotors that afforded better braking, I'm
more concerned with one's that might last longer where warpage is
