thanks.
95 Corolla vibration28 Feb 2005 17:55 GMT3
Got a problem that I could use some help with.
 I have a 95 Corolla, 4-cyl, automatic, 125k miles.
My problem is when I first start the car in cold weather. For the
first 5 minutes the engine has a vibration (enough to rattle the dash)
2001 Avalon OEM Battery Question28 Feb 2005 17:37 GMT4
When I purchased my 2001 Avalon XL new, it came with the Delco "Green Eye"
battery. There does not appear to be any way to access the cells to see if
they need filling. Is this the way this battery is designed or am I missing
something?
Corolla FWD Tire Pressures28 Feb 2005 14:50 GMT23
I had a 1963 VW Beetle which I kept for 23 years.  Tire pressures for
the VW were different front to back because of the weight of the
engine plus  transaxel on the rear tires. If I remember correctly -
which I probably don't - they were something like 25 or 30 psi in the
I'm looking at buying an '05 Avalon.  What should I pay?28 Feb 2005 13:19 GMT6
Local dealers are asking for full sticker, around $36.000 for an Avalon
Limited.  I can't imagine many car shoppers willing to pay full MSRP!
I'd feel like a fool if I did. How long will it take before the
discounts are comparable to those on the Camry, or earlier Avalon?
Question28 Feb 2005 05:15 GMT14
How often do people respond when they have corrected any problem they have
asked about?
I don't read here all the time, but I do see these long threads with
suggestion, counter suggestions (and abuse) but not many of them seem to
Is 20% ethanol in gas a good idea?27 Feb 2005 13:10 GMT11
Some officials in Minnesota are proposing that all gasoline be mandated
to contain 20% ethanol.  Can all engines safely run on a 20% ethanol
blend ... or might this be hard on the engine or fuel system?  Ethanol
burns cleaner, but has less energy than gasoline.  Critics say ethanol

Tire inflation26 Feb 2005 22:07 GMT19
Everyone says that tires should be inflated to the recommended pressure
when "cold".  Does this mean cold at a reasonable outside temperature?
How about when the car has been sitting all night at ten below zero
Fahrenheit?  Wouldn't this cause the pressure to read lower than normal?
One good thing about snow...26 Feb 2005 18:47 GMT89
(besides skiing) Fewer ricers on the roads.
Went to look at 05,s26 Feb 2005 14:20 GMT15
Went to the toyota dealer today, to look at the 05 camry and 05
highlander with my son. Just thought I would run by two observations on
these cars.
1)   My son has a 15 year old camry with close to 200,000 miles on it, and
mystery problem with a 1997 Avalon XLS26 Feb 2005 08:31 GMT11
Hi all.  I have a 1997 toyota avalon with 95,000 miles on it which has
a problem for about a year (it started happening infrequently but it is
now a constant occurance) that has not been correctly diagnosed and I
was wondering if I could get some ideas from you all.

Timing Belt Change Intervals25 Feb 2005 22:32 GMT15
Would like to know when are we supposed to change the Timing Belt for a 96
Avalon.
Also, is this an interference or non interference engine.
OT 'There is a god!'25 Feb 2005 20:16 GMT172
A college professor, an avowed atheist and active in the ACLU, was
teaching his class. He shocked several of his students when he flatly
stated that once and for all he was going to prove there was no God.
Addressing the ceiling he shouted: "GOD, if you are real, then I want
