Toyota Prius on snow04 May 2005 13:38 GMT21
To owners of 2004/2005 Toyota Prius,
I'm shopping for a new car, and 2005 Toyota Prius is one of the
candidates. So far, there are many good reviews about this car. I'd
like to get some of your opinions here.
Question for the Techs (or anyone who knows) 88 Supra dome light04 May 2005 04:12 GMT15
Dome light is not functioning. I have the "Sport Roof" and I have heard
this is a common problem on this.
Before I go digging, can someone who knows or has been there before tell
me what I'm looking for? (other than a blown fuse, of course!)
Avalon 97-99 Suspension Problems, Premium Fuel?04 May 2005 01:28 GMT9
I've been seriously thinking about a used Avalon as an alternative to a more
expensive Lexus E300 or an Acura TL of about the same vintage.  Two issues:
major--the suspension and minor-is premium fuel necessary?

Brake Pad Question On Lexus LS43003 May 2005 21:43 GMT3
I recently had my 2004 Lexus LS430 (19,000 miles, 18 months old) to the
dealer for warranty work. While the car was there, I asked them to check the
brake pad wear. They told me that I have 5/32nds left on all 4 and that was
about half way. After I left, I started thinking about ...
Compression test values too high - 1991 Toyota Tercel03 May 2005 19:45 GMT16
1991 Toyota Tercel
Ok, I've done a compression test several times on this car in the last
week or two and I'm getting numbers that are way too high.  I'm doing
it properly from what I can tell, but I must be missing something.  I'm
nationwide service records?03 May 2005 17:47 GMT1
When buying a "certified" used car from a dealer, shouldnt the dealer be
able to look up the car's VIN on a nationwide service database? I know
that Honda does it, and certainly the technology is available. My dealer
says that they cant do it, and cant tell me of the service ...
Overheating03 May 2005 17:37 GMT2
We just changed the engine in my 98 Camry.  The new engine is a 97.  It
sounds fine but the cooling fan will not come on and it overheats.  The
relays and fuses are o.k.  Everything got hooked back up o.k.
Tercel headliner03 May 2005 16:43 GMT4
What is the fix for a 89 Tercel headliner that is coming loose?  Any way to
fix it without replacing it?  We need to sell the Tercel along with my 88
4-runner.
Thanks
Up the deductibles?03 May 2005 13:56 GMT26
We own a 1997 Rav4 with about 90,000 miles on it.  We're thinking of upping
our collision and comprehensive deductibles from $500 to $1000 to lower our
premium.
Does this Rav still have enough value to keep the lower deductibles?  Would
Transmission hold up well for Sienna's?03 May 2005 08:02 GMT16
I been reading other newsgroups that the Honda Odyssey
and Dodge Caravan have had some history of transmission troubles. How has
the Toyota Sienna's
transmission held up? I plan to buy a used minivan this summer, likely
2001 Corolla Light Bulb replacement.03 May 2005 06:02 GMT3
I went to local Part Source & Canadian Tire for an Instrument Cluster Bulb
but no luck.  My questions are:
1) Where do I find the part# of the bulb? (Nothing in the Owner's Manual)
2) Do I have to go to the Dealer?
88 Supra BVSV03 May 2005 04:54 GMT7
On my Supra (and a LOT of others I have seen) the upper nipple on the BVSV
breaks off. This is the VSV that fits into the Thermostat housing and
contorls venting the canister into the intake.
I just got a 'new' one on e-bay for 1/2 of retail (even at my cost, which

When I start my 01 camry le after it has been sitting for a while,
smoke comes out of the tail pipe. What do I need to do to correct this
problem?
OT - More delays?  I tell you...02 May 2005 17:48 GMT44
...it's a conspiracy!  It's horrible!
I was just comparing my NBC network standard and high-definition
channels.  They carry the same programming, yet the high-def is
about four seconds behind standard definition.
