| '03 Corolla--why is the door seal rubber on the body instead of the door? | 16 May 2005 21:33 GMT | 19 |
Why is the door seal rubber on the body instead of the door in the Corolla? The rubber on mine has worn through from getting in and out. I "fixed" it by covering the part that was worn with black duct tape, but I wonder why they chose to put it there to begin with.

My new 05 Camry XLE was rear-ended and the rear-bumper cover needs to be replaced. I took it to the dealer and they told me they are going to get a black OEM rear-bumper and paint it to my car's color (silver) in their body shop. I thought the outside body color of a car was somehow ...

| Ride quality? Toyota Echo vs. Toyota Scion Xa | 16 May 2005 05:22 GMT | 75 |
Consumer Reports said that the Toyota Echo had good ride quality but that the Scion Xa, based on the same chassis, rode rough. I test drove both on the freeway and found this to be true. I don't need an absolutely smooth ride, but the Scion seemed like it

The latest tally for fixing that car is way more than we'd like to spend, so we're selling her for parts. *sniff* I get such a lump in my throat when I think of our years together!

| What is a 'classic'? | 15 May 2005 04:27 GMT | 19 |
Interesting thought I had this morning. Back in 1972, my stepfather had a 1956 Thunderbird, with the two tops, portholes, AT 283, Continental kit. It had about 70,000 miles on it, about 2/3 through it's life span. It needed an engine rebuild, a complete going over with a spray gun, ...

| Do any Japanese cars qualify as "collector cars"? | 15 May 2005 04:07 GMT | 24 |
Someone in another thread suggested that there are NO Japanese collector cars in the US. After thinking about it, I must say I've never seen an older Asian car with collector plates. Granted the Asian cars have not been in the US market that long, but you would think there would ...
