Sienna vs Odyssey01 Sep 2005 00:42 GMT37
I'm shopping for a minivan and the choices came
down to Toyota Sienna vs Honda Odyssey.
I'm wondering what are the group's impression of
Sienna. I did a test drive on both and I like both
Calculate savings on gas driving Prius01 Sep 2005 00:21 GMT74
Given: MPM (miles per month), $PG (dollars per gallon), MPG1 (previous miles
per gallon), MPG2 (new miles per gallon)
Find: SAV (savings in $ per month)
SAV = MPM x $PG x (1 / MPG1 - 1 / MPG2)
Ping Jeff S DTC P041131 Aug 2005 22:04 GMT2
Checked the factory repair manual for a 97 Avalon, DTC P0411 is not listed.
"secondary air injection system" implies something with the exhaust so I'd
look for a valve that is hanging up or a leaking tube.
Good luck!
'01 Corolla Start Problem31 Aug 2005 21:51 GMT1
The car is an '01 Corolla CE, with 60k.
When starting the car in the morning, it runs rough, and behaves like
it's using only about half of it's cylinders. Sometimes it stalls. When
it doesn't, I have to nurse the gaxs pedal to get the idle up, and to

Today i took my car to a mechanic to replace the engine mounts (Toyota
Cressida 91).  After picking up the car, i start noticing rough idle.
I suspected the spark plugs based on previous experience.  I checked
the spark plug leads and i noticed that one is loose (please see the
Prius in salt water?31 Aug 2005 06:22 GMT1
I fear this enquiry will trigger another controvery, but here goes --
Seeing videos of people stranded in cars swamped by salt water along
the US gulf coast, I wonder: is there an increased risk for the
occupants in a hybrid car? My intuition says No, but my science is

A solution for my Cooling Tube problem? (A tnx to Ray O)31 Aug 2005 06:13 GMT1
Brought your note in, Ray. They know Ron.
At any rate the Parts Manager went up through the years. He got the part
no. for the trans cooling tube from a '91. There is ONE in the country, in
California. It will probably be here Friday.

1999 Rav4 flasher brake lights31 Aug 2005 03:38 GMT4
When i bought my car in Jan 1999, i was bullied into buying a flashing
3rd brake light.  At that time i was told that the flasher brake light
was supposed to help me avoid being rear ended.   i was even told and
given a written guarantee that if i got rear-ended...i would be given
Ping - Mr. Newton31 Aug 2005 03:26 GMT129
Hello, Mr. Newton.  About 3 weeks ago, I asked a question of you.
Would you be so kind as to reply with your answer?
Thanks, so much.
Looks like Canada is getting the Yaris31 Aug 2005 03:09 GMT3
The Yaris will replace the Echo hatchback in Canada.  Don't know if the Echo
sedan is on the chopping block or not.  I also doubt they will bring it to
the U.S. since they have the Scion xA.

Rear shock absorber is leacking, so i MUST replace both sides?30 Aug 2005 22:04 GMT22
I was told that my rear left shock absorber is leaking and that i must
replace it.  But the technician is suggesting that i MUST replace both
rear sock absorbers (left & right)?
Does that make sense? or they out for the money?
