Super low MPG in 91 Tercel04 Aug 2005 05:58 GMT25
I'm getting around 20-21 MPG in my 1991 Toyota Tercel.  I bought the
car 4 months ago and it promptly blew a head gasket.  I replaced it,
had the head resurfaced, put in tons of new seals (incl. the valve stem
seals) and did everything correctly when reassembling the engine.  It
99 Corolla Rear seat problem04 Aug 2005 05:47 GMT1

91 Corolla Knocking Noise04 Aug 2005 05:39 GMT5
I have a 91 Corolla with 145k (4A-FE engine). Lately, I've been hearing
a faint knocking noise that is definately coming from the engine. Its
only really noticable when the engine is cold but I listened closely
and it is also there very faintly even when the engine is fully warmed
Dealer Service Dept. Overcharge?04 Aug 2005 02:28 GMT28
I am the recent owner of a nice little 1996 Tercel manual trans. with
72K miles.  The car is in great shape.  It had its 60K mile service
before I bought it, but the one thing that dealer did not do was change
the transaxle oil. So I brought it to my local Toyota dealer today to
Door Release Pushbuttons on '03 Sienna04 Aug 2005 01:34 GMT3
The side door release pushbuttons on my '03 Sienna keep sticking in the
depressed position.  I can usually get them free, but the passenger side
button is now frozen in the depressed position.  Any ideas as how to free it
and how to keep it from happening.

I have a 1984 Toyota Van LE 128,000 original mile. Yes, still running good.
Last few years eats batteries, cause is my wife not driving it enough,

I even bought a solar charger for it, to keep the battery alive.
2000 Echo - the saga continues...03 Aug 2005 18:07 GMT5
I took the car in to be 'diagnosed' today at Rick Hendrick Toyota, and the
guy thinks the rear-end collision may have dismounted the transmission.  He
said that might be why we're getting that 'e-brake-pulling' sound when we
move the shifter forward (It only happens when I'm idle ...
Daytime running lights.03 Aug 2005 03:30 GMT22
I noticed while on vacation that my DTRL will stay off if the parking
brake is engaged even though the vehicle (01 Toyota Camry)  is running.
This tells me there is probably another way to disable them so they stay
off while the vehicle is being used at least until the next start up ...

Previa short, no power02 Aug 2005 16:44 GMT8
I know this is a long shot, but my Previa has apparently developed a
short and has lost all power. When I hooked up the charger it acted
very erratic, buzzed and the metter bottomed out, which coupled with my
loss of power seems to indicate short. Short of checking every inch of
TNS 300, confirmation beep02 Aug 2005 16:35 GMT3
I have a new Corolla Verso with TNS 300 navi pack. Seems to work fine but there is an annoying confirmation beep whenever I accept choices or select from menus and so forth, (Whenever i press the Ent/Tune button).
My question - is there a way to turn off this confirmation beep - ...
Just cleaned the PCV baffles on the GT4/Alltrac.02 Aug 2005 11:29 GMT1
OMG, whatv gunk gets trapped in there.
Hopefully the crank case pressures will breathe more easily now, and I
won't be blowing so much oil out of every gap/orifice and space it can
find.
Four hours later...02 Aug 2005 09:54 GMT20
and the passenger's side front brakes are done. The caliper on that side
wasn't any better than the other one, I don't know why is wasn't sticking!
Looks like I order another new caliper Monday...I did manage to get it to
work; slider stuck like the other side.
TOYOTA PARTS WARRANTY IN CANADA LIFETIME/LABOUR?02 Aug 2005 06:38 GMT7
Does anyone have info on the Toyota Canada lifetime warranty on parts?
My dealer wants to charge me labour to install the lifetime warranty
muffler which developed a hole in 18 months. I am trying to find out if
the dealer is following consumer protection law in Quebec and Toyota
