windshield wipers18 Aug 2005 05:49 GMT7
I know this question isn't really restricted to Toyota but I ask here
because its on my Corolla.
I changed the wipers about a 8 months ago and it squeeks and streaks
now and annoys my wife when she uses them.
transmission dipstick level reading18 Aug 2005 05:37 GMT18
I'll admit despite reading a bit and having people explain automatic
transmissions to me I am clueless as to how they work and am more
scared when there is a mysterious noise or funny shifting happening
with the transmission than if there's a funny noise from the engine.

Despite best efforts no one has been able to properly find a solution.
I wanted to get back to share what I have learned. Perhaps it will help
Bought my wife a Prius, I WANT IT! :-)18 Aug 2005 03:42 GMT1
My '98 Avalon XLS has been the joy of my driving life, but I suddenly
have a new love. My wife's Subaru lost an argument at an intersection
but gamely gave its life to keep her safe. In the course of choosing a
new car for her we decided to look at hybrids. This week we took

Watch out, I'm back on the road17 Aug 2005 20:56 GMT17
The surgery instructions basically say I should not drive before Aug 18th.
Went to see the surgeon today, he did a brief examination on the state of
the sternum (The reason for the restriction)  and said I could start driving
again.  I said, Wednesday?  He said, no, I could drive ...
Locked out-any truth to this?17 Aug 2005 13:25 GMT26
Something a friend e-mailed me:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home,
call someone on your (or someone else's) cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the
Hitch height on Sienna17 Aug 2005 11:18 GMT18
I recently had installed a Hidden Hitch with a 2" receiver to my 2004
Sienna.  I use it to carry bikes (4), not to tow anything.  On a camping
trip, with the van full of camping gear, 4 people, and 4 bikes on the
hitch, I found it stressful driving over any kind of bump or dip in ...

Corolla Caliper pin frozen - what next?17 Aug 2005 01:41 GMT6
I was changing the front pads on my 2001 Corolla, and on the passenger side
one of the pins appears to be frozen solid.  (This is new to me)  Do I have
to put in a new caliper?  Is the brake line easy or hard to
disconnect/reconnect?  TIA -
anti-theft radio lockout17 Aug 2005 00:13 GMT2
I have a 1990 Toyota Supra that was purchased new by my brother who
lived in CA. Upon his death, I brought the car to Balto and garaged it
for six years. My husband set it up with a tickle charger but the
battery still went dead several times.

annually for paper filter. From advertisement, it seems to me that K&N
air filter for Corolla costs $40, but it is washable and can last
lifetime. Does anybody have any experience using such filter and how
