Lug nut wrench size for 96 Avalon?13 Sep 2005 05:31 GMT22
I have to get new lug nuts for my Avalon because some of them were
stripped and rounded off.  When looking online for lug nuts, I come
across two sizes: one is has a 3/4 hex and the other is 17mm (there was
a 13/16, too, but I don't think thats right.
Check engine light on Toyota Rav413 Sep 2005 04:00 GMT4
My daughter has a 1998 Toyota Rav 4 with 109,000 miles on it. I
generally see her and the car once a week. About a year ago, the check
engine light came on, but there was no DTC. It went off after a few
days. It would come on for a few days or weeks and then stay off for a

Tried upgrading HDDs...not an easy thing with Linux!System blew it's
brains out; running on a "Live" version that runs from CDuntil I can get
the drives to Play Nice with each other...so far it's been like trying to
get L. Richard and SiF to play nice with each other!   ;)
3.5mm or 4mm vacuum hose?13 Sep 2005 01:37 GMT4
I'm replacing several of the emission control (SC, HAI, and EGR) vacuuum
hoses on my '79 Celica. I bought new 4mm hoses from Autozone, and they do
fit, albeit somewhat loosely. Should I be using 3.5mm instead? They are
somewhat rare and I'm considering using Silicone 3.5mm's from ...

Need advice on 98 Corolla exhast repair...12 Sep 2005 18:58 GMT2
Exhaust leak somewhere in the front.
I raised the car on jack stands, crawled under but could not see the
problem. I "assume" it is either the manifold or the curved section of pipe
attached to the manifold. This section of pipe has a heat shield over it so
Alarm comes on and I can;t turn it off and car won't start - no remote12 Sep 2005 18:03 GMT6
I was wondering if someone could help.
I purchased a 1991 4runner and disconnected the battery today.
When I reconnected it the alarm comes on and I don't know how to turn
it off.
Matrix AC12 Sep 2005 16:53 GMT11
I test drove a 03 Matrix yesterday, I am actually shopping for new
Matrix, but the 03 I test drove seems to have a weak air coditioner, I
turned it on high, and it had nowhere the blast as my new Caravan, is
this normal on the Matrix's. power was so so. but up a hill was
Protecting the Prius's rear bumper from gouging12 Sep 2005 13:14 GMT3
I'm about to transport a compact refrigerator-freezer a considerable
distance. I'll be using our new Prius in lieu of our Avalon for two
reasons: the trip will cost less, and the 4' x 2' x 2' crate fits
entirely inside the Prius. And of course the Avalon would be
Why is Gasoline so Cheap?12 Sep 2005 10:56 GMT94
It amazes me that anyone who believes in the free market thinks gasoline
in the U.S. is expensive.  The reason gasoline prices are going up is
because gasoline demand is going up and people are willing to pay the
price.  In other words, gasoline is underpriced.
Corola problem12 Sep 2005 05:09 GMT2
My 2000 Toyota corolla's clock, radio and cassette player stopped working. I
might have put Cigar lighter back and it started some smoking and after that
all 3 stopped working. Any advise if I can check something myself?
Thanks...PS
Supra For Sale? Cheep? (Any Ideas from our Master Techs?)12 Sep 2005 03:53 GMT3
Man, o, man...
The oil pan was tight. It still leaks, down the sides and esp in the front
and rear.
More unnerving than that; in the front of the engine, above the oil pan,
Levee blown deliberately ?12 Sep 2005 00:35 GMT45
OT:Anything to this business about the Levee being deliberately blown at
that location in order to spare the French Quarter ?
Mighty strange the French Quarter so untouched.
I saw on TV one day some of the locals saying they heard the explosion. One
Keyless Entry not working11 Sep 2005 23:04 GMT3
have 2004 Tundra DC, my remote for the keyless entry stopped working, I
changed the battery but that did not help, the light still comes on the
remote but it does not lock or unlock.  The other remote that we have works
fine.  Is there anyway to reset one of these?
1999 Celica convertible motor(s) work, but nothing happens11 Sep 2005 22:59 GMT6
I just bought a used Celica convertible.  It's in great shape.  The
only problem is that the top won't go up or down using the motor
(sounds like there's more than one.)  You can hear the motor(s)
turning, but the top doesn't move at all.  You can raise and lower the
