I went to a Toyota site, and political bickering broke out.   Actually,
politics has hijacked the forum  and has nearly ruined it as a place to
talk Toyota.
88 Camry:  Intermittent Alternator with Battery, Lights, and Brake Warning Lights11 Sep 2005 21:19 GMT5
Hello I've got an 88 Camry, 4 cylinders, 230k mi.  It runs really well
except for this alternator problem which has confounded me.  The car
will run fine for anywhere from 1 minute to 2 or 3 hours with the
alternator on, then the Battery, Lights, and  Brake Warning lights all

Intermittent air problem11 Sep 2005 20:53 GMT3
The compressor on my 2003 Celica seems to shut off intermittently and
the AC light flashes, then the air gets hot. If I turn everything off
and then back on sometimes it starts working again, sometimes not. When
it's working it's plenty cool, when it's not it's completely

Does the standard radio in the '04 Highlander have a facility to
connect the mute of a phone handsfree unit? The unit puts an earth out

Corolla 1988 SR5 carburated model.
This great little car has started on a dime for over 10 years. About a
month ago I noticed intermittent starting difficulty. I turn the key and
it starts instantly - or - I turn the key and it refuses to start.

Deterioration of this NG10 Sep 2005 20:52 GMT59
I subscribed to this group some years ago to help me maintain my Toyotas and
keep abreast of news in the Toyota world.
Over time, the group has descended into a spam-filled haven for political
discussions and vitriolic flame sessions.
mystery of corolla differential runs dry10 Sep 2005 13:48 GMT27
My father's 97 corolla with the 3 speed transmission recently develop a
whine. Drove it to my usual mechanic where he suggested to try change
both the oil in the tranny and the differential to see if it helps.
(this transaxle has a seperate differential drain plug). The tranny was

1985 Toyota Pickup -- Idle Speed Adjustment10 Sep 2005 03:27 GMT3
Hello, I'm a newbie here.   Just bought my first Toyota ever, a 1985
pickup with 146K miles.   The engine starts readily and pulls well. The
idle is smooth, but that's the problem.   The truck failed state
inspection today because the idle is too high.   How does one adjust the
Corolla Shop Manual09 Sep 2005 21:40 GMT2
I considering going to the Toyota Technical  Information System (TIS) web
site to get the online shop manual for a 98 Toyota Corolla.  As I
understand, you can get one day on the site for $10 to view/download a
manual in pdf form.  Does anyone have experience with this site, i.e. ...
Corolla Sales09 Sep 2005 17:08 GMT8
This situation with fuel supply and prices seems to have affected
Corolla sales.  A dealership close to me said they are out of them.
They sold all 28 that they had from Friday through Sunday.  Anyone
else hear of anything similar in your area?
