1999 avensis temp gauge rises, fan comes on as req, heater just puts out

I seem to remember seeing this in relation to a Sienna but I am not 100%
sure.  The seatbelt indicator on my 1999 Corolla LE is sometimes off when
the belt is not pulled out and off when the belt is pulled around me [this
is correct] but at other times it is OFF when the belt is ...

I've been Google searching this group and
it seems the two likely reasons for gas in the
oil are either leaky diaphram in oil pump, or
leaking bowl in the carburetor.

I plan to drive my camry to Florida from Canada in the middle of
winter. I cannot use all season tires, as they are not suitable where I
live, as temp is too cold. I do not wish to carry all season tires in
trunk of car and switch them upon arrival in Florida.

My 92 Tercel didn't pass the smog test and I need to sell it. I was
told I can try unclogging the EGR.
Could somebody give me some advice on locating the valve, removing it
and cleaning.

difference is a 61F difference0, another for the brake caliper bolts
