92 4runner shifts very hard21 Apr 2006 23:20 GMT8
Ok, I'm reeeeally hoping I can get some good feedback on a problem I'm
having w/ my 92 4runner.  The problem is that it shifts extremely hard
between gears, as if there was nothing to smooth the transition between
gears.  It's an automatic.  It's not that it shifts at a high RPM,
chip paint cover21 Apr 2006 21:22 GMT8
I have been told you can get paint to cover the rock chips and scratches on
your Toyotas from the dealers parts departments.  When I called the
dealership, they said there was no such animal.
Has anyone else purchased paint like this?

An ugly woman walks into a shop with her two kids.
The shopkeeper asks, "Are they twins?"
The woman says, "No, he's 9 and she's 7. Why? Do you think they look
alike?"
Tire "dry rot"21 Apr 2006 14:30 GMT5
I have an 01 Prism with about 45,000 miles in it.  The other day it was
up on the lift to have my front snow tires replaced with my original all
weather tires.  The mechanic said that I should replace my rear tires
because they were developing "dry rot".  The tread is wearing but ...
One Car for 4 Licensed Drivers21 Apr 2006 14:22 GMT3
In my family, we have one car for 4 licensed drivers.  We brought up
our children cycling, and now that they're older (one is a Junior in
High School and the other is a Freshman in college), they have
continued the good habit.  I commute by bicycle to work year round,

2000 carolla check engine20 Apr 2006 17:50 GMT5
Can a weak battery periodically cause the check engine light to illuminate?
If I connect a battery charger to my battery, it will stay off for a few
weeks.  Is there no voltage indicator light in a 2000 carolla?  Can I be
having a charging systme problem?

It was with much dismay that Rachael discovered her husband Hymie had a
mistress. Rachael, however, was not the sort to kill the golden goose,
rather she decided to find out what the mistress had that she didn't.
After a long interrogation Hymie finally relented. "Well, to tell you

How can you tell that the clutch is to be changed?20 Apr 2006 04:35 GMT4
Back from the mechanics. He tested the car and told me that the "Clutch
is gone". I fully trust him on the diagnostic. However, what are the
signs that the clutch is gone? Very often, I pressed the gas pedal to
accelerate, and the accelaration takes place only after a few seconds.
2002 corolla Half shaft Q20 Apr 2006 00:43 GMT1
Can anyone tell me if it is normal for the inner section of the
half-shaft to move about quite a bit where shaft goes into the trans?
I am assuming that what the shaft goes into, in the trans. is movable.
It is this way on both sides.

4 wheel steering vehicles. Where did they go?19 Apr 2006 20:00 GMT14
Back in the days when I was 8 years of age in 1986, I saw this Nissan
add where they showed a new vehicle with 4 wheel steering and how the
driver could literally pull out of curb side parking by moving side
ways. It was one the hottest concepts back then and was predicted to
