Now, onto the alarm15 Jun 2006 22:38 GMT21
It has wiring for + pulsed door locks and - pulsed door locks.
I believe Toyotas are - pulsed. Is there a good place in the kick panel to
get to this? On my 240 SX the Gumby that cobbed the alarm tapped into the
fuse block, and I had to redo it.
Timing Belt Replacement.15 Jun 2006 19:33 GMT7
My 2000 Sienna is fast approaching 90k miles and it is time for a
timing belt replacement.  I've called a few dealers and independent
shops in my area, Northern Virginia, and have been given ballpark
figures ranging from $650 to $1100.   Anyone have experience with this
$30,000 for a PRIUS?15 Jun 2006 19:23 GMT26
I see that Toyota is getting close to $30,000 for a Prius, while similarly
sized gas Corollas are close to half. Where are the economics here? Or do
liberals just pay the piper so that they can wear the "I am a liberal" badge
of driving a Prius? I don't mean to start a flame ...

I have a 1991 Corolla DX Wagon (5 sp manual) with which I have been
exceedingly happy over the last 15 years. Incredibly reliable and cost
effective. Just reached 99,000 miles (I walk and cycle a lot).
I am now ready to replace it with a car which has airbags, ABS and in

1999 Camry 6 cyl - check engine light15 Jun 2006 05:34 GMT8
Question? My 1999 Camry LE, 6 cyl , has about 102,500 miles on it.
Within the last 2 days the 'check engine' light came on and has stayed
on. All fluid levels are o.k. What can the problem be and approximate
cost to fix it? I just want to make sure I don't get ripped off when it

{OT}  comebacks  -->joke<--14 Jun 2006 21:22 GMT2
At a dinner party, one of the guests, an obnoxiously loud young man,
tried to make clever remarks about everyone and everything. He was
served a piece of meat, he picked it up with his fork, held it up and
smirked : "Is this pig?"
{OT}  passport  -->joke<--14 Jun 2006 21:08 GMT3
The old American absent mindedly arrived at French customs at Paris
airport and fumbled for his passport.
"You have been to France before Monsieur?", the customs officer asked
sarcastically.

I blew up a Camry today (first time!)14 Jun 2006 15:00 GMT27
So I'm driving along, minding my own business, checking for a tire
vibration. I pull away from a stoplight under full throttle (4cyl) to get
up enough speed to make it wobble, 1st gear, 2nd gear, thir--  BAM!!!  A
gigantic blue cloud poured out from under the hood over the ...
2001 Prism tire inflation14 Jun 2006 14:51 GMT12
A few days ago Ray O recommended increasing tire inflation by 4 pounds.
The car instructions specify 30 pounds.  Wouldn't increasing this to 34
pounds affect the handling?  How much of an improvement in gas mileage
would this result in?
What's an easy way to FAIL a smog test?14 Jun 2006 00:28 GMT22
I have an 85 pickup with a 22RE engine.
A while back it started running rough, and when I pulled the spark
plugs, the #4 plug was wet with oil.
Several people (some in this group) suggested that the rings were bad.
