Im almost finished installing a remote start in my 1998 Corolla LE, just need to install the hood pin switch. Is there a grommeted opening in the firewall somewhere on Left (D) Side to run a wire? Or will I have to drill one?

I have an ECHO 2000. The "Check Engine light" came on a month ago. I have the code checked and I was told that they are related to Emission Control System but don't know where exactly the probelm is. After the light is on, I heard some noise when I push the gas pedal -

There's an auxiliary fan for the radiator run by an electric motor that doesn't seem to be turning on. I don't think I've ever seen it run, even when the temp guage got pretty hot. What could be preventing it from running?
